Hey, does anyone know if I can use these discs on a non Dell PC?

Also there is some kind of a number on the back of the CD jackets, but I don't think it is the actual CD key, will I be prompted to enter a CD key?

Thanks in advance

yes, you will be asked to enter keys for activating your XP or VISTA one VISTA can be activated on three PCs so your VISTA should be OK. I don't know about XP maybe same as VISTA.

Better hurry up and tell Microsoft that. You can install Vista (and XP) on ONE and only ONE computer at a time. Might want to read the license agreemt,

pay particular attention to section 2.

You can use those disk on any computer, but it will install all the dell crap on the other computer. As stormy13 said, you can legally use it on only one computer.

You will find the actual key on the Proof of License Certificate that should be stuck to the side or bottom of the Dell PC.
