View Full Version : What do you think of crocs?

I personally have never tried them, but have heard they are very comfortable. I am not crazy about the look of them, but it has grown on me. My one child in hockey uses them as they are easy to slip foot in and out of when we have to run to practice ...which is almost every night...plus they don't get ruined when stepped on with skates.
What do you think. I believe this is the appropriate forum for people to post their opinions on the "look" of apparel. You won't offend me as I am expecting criticism here!

Yep, I heard they're supercomfortable too, but I would never ever wear them. They just look ridiculous to me and I love real shoes too much.
On kids, they're fine I think, but when i see an adult wearing them [with white socks at that], it makes me cringe.

Cute on kids, horrendous on adults.

Depends on the situation. I wear my crocs all the time when I worked at a camp or was at my cottage.
If your just wearing like sweatpants and a T-shirt and heading to the store, they can look alright, but ya, if you ever want to look presentable they are not the way to go.

I think they look silly, not interested in them at all.

They are not the best looking shows, but they are super comfortable and durable. They are good for beaches, cottages, or middle of the night grocery shopping (which I do a lot). For everyday fashion?? Nah...Their sizes are really off and i highly doubt anyone can find a pair that will fit them perfectly...hence..you can't really find a pair of pants to match them..esp for women
cos of the nature of the fitting, i actually wouldn't recommend them for kids...i'm a strong believer that kids should wear shoes that fit them properly so their feet will grow properly.

Well, I'll admit it - I love them. Got them for the kids first and they wear nothing else unless forced to. Quick and easy, comfortable, okay to get wet (they even wear them at the lake as water shoes) and they love the bright colours.
When I saw a subtler colour (light blue, still not *real* subtle!) in my size, I went ahead, figuring I'd use them as quick slip-on for taking the garbage out and such -- and became an instant convert! They are super comfy and lightweight, and the easy-on really is handy when I have my hands full! Sure, they don't go well with business wear, but I think they're fine with jeans or shorts, and sometimes they can work with some other outfits too. I'm not giving mine up!

They look like beach or pool wear and should be only used for that on adults
Do these go well with track pants?

Don't like the look. I guess they are alright for home use and beach and stuff. For school and public places......noooooo. I did try them on before for kicks and they are comfortable. I actually wouldn't mind a pair for home.

I would said they are too expensive.
I don't really care about if it is ugly. I am a more practical person. I would have bought a pair if it is not that expensive and I never see that "really" on sale.

They had their 15 minutes, if that.
Imitations are less than $10, in the identical soft material now, not like the first copies that were made of hard plastic.
Good for camping, yardwork, etc, not fashion.

I wear them, I'm a cook. They are slip resistant and comfy and affordable.
I don't wear them outside of work though.

They're the Birkenstocks of this generation.
Ass-ugly, but madly popular with those who've owned them.
Pass.

Wow Ix2L, shouldn't you be wearing something more protective in case some hot food falls on you or, god forbid, you drop a knife!

I thought public health and safety required all staff in food establishment mandatory to wear closed toes shoes

The Crocs bistro is made for the kitchen, it's closed toe/heel. Wow Ix2L, shouldn't you be wearing something more protective in case some hot food falls on you or, god forbid, you drop a knife!
It's pretty heavy duty, most chefs wear clogs that are basically the same material. yet the crocs are at a fraction of the price and better comfortability.
You guys must be taken the beach model of the crocs line, which is their most popular model but butt ugly.

i think they are fine as long as you confine them along the beach, your own property, and if you are heading from/to your yoga class.

Can't agree more. There's a reason that trend is dead (and the stock plummeted). There are plenty of comfortable shoes that aren't hideous.
