My mom keeps on borrowing my credit card and I really want to stop using it as Id like to pay all my debts off.

Question:
I dont know how bad her credit is but she thinks its really bad and I dont question it at all. Our house was foreclosed, she has many cards that she's paying, late, missed payments etc. She doesnt have an active card now I believe and Id like to propose her to get her own and start to actually take it seriously and pay it off on time.

Whats a good card that will almost 100% approve her? Preferably no annual fee. Interest rate can be high as 20% etc. with low credit limit $500-1000 it doesnt matter.

Preferably not a secured or prepaid card though, but if you know of a good one mention it anyway. Thanks RFD!!

Won't getting another credit card just add more to the debt she currently has with all those cards.

These cards are exactly what she will need. If she has to have a card, it has to paid right away and not be gathering interest also. She will rack up the charges on a new card within no time if she can't even keep up with the payments. Doesn't sound like she is serious about getting out of debt.

If you want to help your mother, I wouldn't get her a new credit card.

Instead, get her a credit counselor - perhaps through here:

Lending her your card may get you in serious trouble. Getting her another card with addressing any of her credit issues will get your mother into more trouble.

It may be time for some tough love here. Best wishes!

well, its mostly because she's very negligent, stubborn etc. with the whole credit business. as much as i tell her and argue with her, she gives me reasons why this was not paid or this or that. its tough, really.

i wnt her to get a card cause she needs it for car rentals, online payment etc. things you cant really pay for w/o a credit card.

i dont think theres hope and she turns around and takes the whole thing seriously. i try to tell her how to do things but doesnt listen, very stubborn. she has low income and has to meet many expenses but she's trying to run a business on the side as well, so i dont even know. i told her to focus on debt repayment and she tells me she'll be paying debt until she's old and that the business is like an opportunity for her. my parents arent the best in personal finance, so i try to take all their mistakes as lessons.
