I booked two hotel rooms on one credit card, and it turned out the hotel randomly changed it to one room. So I phoned in to correct it, they issued a cancellation number and reissued a reservation. It turned out that I needed to cancel that reservation for two hotel rooms and they issued me a cancellation number. Due to the confusion I phoned them in and just asked "Is the reservation under (Last Name) cancelled?" and they confirmed. It turned out they charged me a no-show fee of one night because only one of the two rooms were cancelled. I phoned them to correct it but they haven't got back to me.
I did a chargeback with CIBC and they made me issue some statement which reflected the above. It's now been a week since I did that.
Does anyone here have any similar experiences with CIBC? Do I have a hope of actually getting that refunded?
