Less competition up here. The reason why there hasn't been a CDIC failure in Canada since 1996 is that banks charge higher fees here.

I don't see AE nearing bankruptcy in the US. Or any other major CC companies.

That has nothing to do with the question. If they dont have to cut their margins to compete, they wont. Simple

What are you talking about, we have offers like that already. Do you even bother skimming through the forums? MBNA 0% for 15months and MBNA 4.99% for life are 2 different threads on RFD. As for the ae rewards, they aren't all that great when compared to other cards that are offered in Canada. So the above isn't anything special.
