Well, after realizing that the Dell only ships VGA cables for their 24" monitors, I now need to buy myself a DVI - HDMI cable or an HDMI cable only for the monitor to work.

Any ideas where would be the best place to buy? Whats the best brand to get? I don't need the cable to be that big, so roughly 6ft is more than enough.

As far as Vista goes, is there anyway I can actually make Vista log on look like XP network log on? (The CTRL + ALT + DEL or the next step would be just fine).
Also, can Windows Defender be removed from Vista seeing as how it was automatically installed?

All help appreciated.

There are a lot of utilities out there that will do this. Some are freeware. Do a Google search on making Vista look like Windows XP and you should find them. Defender can be disabled. I use Ashampoo's Windows Optimizer to speed Vista up. They have a free trial for upto 14 days to try.

For UAC (most useless piece of crap i've ever seen, and im sure you want to get rid of it)

And for the cable, get it from monoprice.com

Ummm, my Dell 24" LCD came with VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort cabling. Where did you get the idea that Dell only ships VGA cables?

To connect to a graphics card, VGA was the only connection I got. I got a few others but none could be used.

Windows Defender is now turned off and so is that stupid Account control (first thing I went after).

I am still wondering about the xp log on.

Something like that is what I am after. Is it possible with vista? I didn't find anything under the policies except the ctrl + alt +del option.

As far as monoprice goes, how trust worthy are they? How fast do they ship?

Thank you very much. Before it used to be in the user controls. Why did they have to change these things?
