Was looking for a good deal on 24" and came across this.
The formula is:
TD + Unknown Brand = Take your chances
Reviews are okay, not great. I would've got one but it's too big for me.

WOW!!!! This was on sale for $500 last month and I though it was cheap then! If I didn't have a 37" I'd be jumping on this right now
Cheap Cheap!

Complains about uneven back lighting (uber halo effect) and dead/stuck pixels. You'll probably have to return it at least once to find one with perfect pixels.

Also, no DVI input??

it has HDMI, so i guess they assume you can convert the connector to effectively end up with DVI.

One or two dead or stuck pixels aren't a big deal on a monitor this big.

It has HDMI, which can carry the same signal as DVI. I'm pretty sure it has built in speakers so the HDMI is probably capable of carrying audio.

Well while I can not discriminate against people that do not mind one or 2 dead pixels to me even 1 dead pixel on any lcd would be too much :P
they stick out like a sore thumb - i borrowed my friend`s laptop that he has been using for 2 years and found him 16 dead pixels that he was not even able to notice...
( earned him a replacement lcd screen from toshiba as a result)
it was a 15 or 17 inch screen with a 1600x1200 - can`t remember but the point is the pixels were the size of a pin prick and still i spotted them

Maybe it is just me but even 1 pixel is not acceptable regardless of screen size

and this 28 inch monitor has .3dpi so one dead pixel would look like a fly sitting on the screen ( and stuck pixel like a firefly lol )

IT IS SOLELY MY OWN OPINION - some people can live with dp some can`t.

That`s life.

Another "That's what she said" for this.

I-Inc is a HannsG subsidiary according to one of the reviews as well, so take that for what it's worth. But at least there's no mail-in-rebate, right? :cheesygri

Panel might be weak a little but hmm still tempting for a 28" LCD. Hanns-G makes a nice 27 or 28" model. Are you guys sure it's not the same panel? http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3224143&CatId=3774

Is it a TN panel? What about gaming, any ghosting?

Very tempting I would love to have a 28" monitor, but I think I would just end up playing more games then I allready do. :|

Posted to the front page. Thanks!

Also, the I-Inc product page here: http://www.i-inc-usa.com/Product/if281.htm lists 160/160 degree viewing angles, indicating a TN panel. Then again, it's 28" for $399, so it would be completely insane if it was an MVA or IPS panel.

Price-wise it's good, quality-wise it received ok reviews...but certainly not the same amount of Dell & Samsung owners. Feedback can be skewed.

TigerDirect can be difficult to deal with so if you want this LCD make sure you consider service & warranty. Don't buy it just because it's $399+TAX.

It's a TN panel by the way. If it was a local deal I'd buy it , but shipping and taxes kills it. + TD customer service is just horrible.

i find that mostly has to do with fonts, size, resolution, and connection type (D-SUB, DVI, HDMI) and even vid card. also, make sure your the right distance away from the monitor (which depends on size and dot pitch)

Is this a good monitor for watching tv? I want to install a monitor with HDMI in my room so I can connect to my laptop and stream downloaded movies, etc.

saw this thing last night at the woodbine and hwy 7 location. tonnes of stock left as of last night. probably three skids? looked gross on vga but hdmi looked ok from a distance. didnt get to analyze it though so go in and take a look yourself if you're thinking about it. reviews don't look promising though if you end up with a bad unit.

I have a 19" made by I-INC, no problems so far

the reason it didnt look good on vga is because they have it running on very long vga cables thru a splitter to 6-8 other monitors. it looked like crap on all of them. i just picked one up last evening. havent calibrated the settings yet plus i'm running on a low-end mobo video card but i have to say it offers very good entry-level display. i think mine might have 1 or 2 sticky pixels.

i have to say the display is HUGE though. i installed it in my room and woke up to a real scare when i looked at it. its a sheer monster. i have it running at 1920x1080 right now on vga and can have slingbox, excel and a webpage up with no overlap issues.

its an absolute steal at this price. keep in mind though the bezel, etc looks lousy compared to the ideal dell 3007 model which i had my heart set on the moment i saw it. unfortunately i cannot justify paying close to $1000 EXTRA for it. also the unit has no dvi port (WTH) or usb ports or memory card reader.

haha i think you should be happy that the panel works muchless have other options

good to hear not too many problems
how bad are those two dead pixels?

Having no DVI port is stupid, it's understandable why that would be a turnoff point.

But USB ports or memory card reader? Well call me stupid but that's what a computer is for.

DVI to HDMI no good?
loss of quality?

I use dvi to hdmi on my acer 26 inch.....it's just awesome. I use it as my primary tv to watch downloaded hd movies and tv shows and play games. Games look just insane on a screen this big. I moved up from a 19 inch and it was a totally different experience. I highly recommend going for this at this price. But make sure to get the warranty from tigerdirect cause it's hannsg. I had one and the dvi input burned out after couple months of use and can't exchange it casue I have to ship it to hongkong which is way more expensive.

DVI and HDMI carry the same signal. HDMI 1.3a can carry resolutions above 2560 whereas DVI is limited by bandwidth. DVI doesn't carry audio though.

A HDMI to DVI cable would work great with this monitor. You would have much better image quality then anolog VGA.

$7.50 on monoprice.

I used DVI-HDMI on a Sony 60" 1080P. It works great, 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz (ie 1080P)

i bought this monitor too. went from 19" crt and this thing is a friggin monster. fast action movies look gorgeous on it. But now got to get more HD content since the regular 600x336 stuff looks so pixelated. I am driving it at 1920x1080 via vga output on my pc and the text while working on word docs is grainy though. somewhat blurry at the edges. dont know if this is a function of vga being tapped out or my video card or the monitor. anyone else have this problem?
