i'm not sure about specific models and recent pricing, but they quite often have trash bins on sale for "1/2 price"

heck, look at their entire flyer... many things are on for "1/2 price!!!" ... it's like CT has a BD/W sale every wk

My comments on products I have experience with or own / have owned:

Stainless garbage can - don't waste your money. OUr stainless form CT lasted all of a week before it broke. The one we have currently is from Zellers, was simmilar price (and came with a bonus baby version) but much higher quality.

6 piece pliers set - This is a very good HQ set but they will have it on cheaper... I have seen the same set but with the blue rubber handles for < $15 several times.

Drill bit set @ $7.49 - very good price for HQ bits

3 gallon air compressor - Good little unit, great for shooting up baseboard, but it often goes on for $49.99, or $89.99 with the nailer attachment. I would wait till then.

Debbie Travis Paint - not recommended, at all. We painted our whole house with this stuff and it has not been very durable. Even just wiping it with a damp cloth leaves permanent marks. Stick with Behr paint from HD or National brand paint ( sold at Kent around here ).

$4.99 stool - This is what it is - very tiny and flimsy. Good for a kids room or emergency seating, that is about it.

Angle grinder with 30 discs - great buy for a great grinder set, perfect for cutting or notching brick / concrete.

Magic Blander $ 29.99 - Everyone should have one!

yea, but these slide out!!!! haha.

most of the times, I see those cylindracal garbage cans with the step pedal. but I need one to go under my sink in the kitchen. These seem like they'd be a good solution.

Good price for the B&D rice cooker ...

Yes, this one definitely will be included in the "selected deals".
I have it and it is one of the greatest purchases I ever made! It does not take much space and it is extremely easy to use, I like "keep warm" feature, too. Can't go wrong for less then $10 bucks.

Costco has a good set of 2 nail guns right now. They have the same set at Cdn Tire, but they are WAY more. A finishing nailer and an all purpose nailer. As long as you aren't framing, I'd pick that up.
Don't quote me, but I believe it was around $80-$90 for two good guns.

Does anyone know the level of quality on that $30 Shark vacuum? I live in a condo with hardwood floors. I have a few area rugs, and would rather not spend too much on something that will only be used here-and-there. But at the same time, I don't want to buy something that's crap only because it's cheap.

Thanks

They work well as steamers. If this is the same one I own, it comes with a little steamer tray thing.

It's much smaller than I had thought it would be. I guess I'd grown accustomed to 12 cup rice cookers.

I'm under the impression its the 3 cup (cuz thats 19.99 Reg), but the picture says 6 cup.

Can you use those for cooking things other than rice?

Yes, you can use it for other wholegrains or vegetables as well, but you may have to adjust cooking times manually.

WIth rice - everything is straightforward - measure rice with the supplied cup, add water to the marked levels, turn on and everything else is fully automatic :)

Is the rice cooker the 3 cup or the 6 cup?

I'm under the impression its the 3 cup (cuz thats 19.99 Reg), but the picture says 6 cup.

Both of these statements are correct.

3 cups uncooked, 6 cups cooked. :)

I bought one, liked it so much that I went and bought two more for gifts. Best vacuum I have had, even better than something that cost much more. And it is so light and conveniet you will end up vacuuming more often.

I just bought that 2 weeks ago (along with the big compressor). It's a set of 2 Campbell Hausfeld nailers for $85. One 18 guage brad nailer/stapler and one 16 guage finish nailer. Comes with a carrying box that holds both guns, also comes with a bunch of nails and staples too.

I just saw Canadian Tire has this set as well, which seems pretty good:
http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6674301&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443303753&bmUID=1218826314110&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true

I don't know why I couldn't find this earlier or else I would have bought that instead. Oh well.

Aha B#$%s The ad with the blue air bed on post 3 says BYO Bed!!

So like I said in a thread no one in here probably read BYOB also means Bring your own bed, not only bring your own beer. In Yo Face!

Yes, you can use it for other wholegrains or vegetables as well, but you may have to adjust cooking times manually.

WIth rice - everything is straightforward - measure rice with the supplied cup, add water to the marked levels, turn on and everything else is fully automatic :)

Both of these statements are correct.

3 cups uncooked, 6 cups cooked. :)

Does anyone know the level of quality on that $30 Shark vacuum? I live in a condo with hardwood floors. I have a few area rugs, and would rather not spend too much on something that will only be used here-and-there. But at the same time, I don't want to buy something that's crap only because it's cheap.

ThanksWhich shark vac are you talking about. Couldn't find it in the the flyer, can you link?

I have been looking for something like those roll out garbage bins for a while. They are about $80+ at kitchen stuff plus. They are cheaper at Ikea, but tiny. But, I have to say I am surprized they don't have lids. Anybody have any idea where I can get an affordable (read:$30) set of under the counter roll out garbage bins with a lid?

Thanks ag2000.

Very happy to see the KitchenAid pots go on sale. Purchased them today with a friend's CT mastercard. I really needed a quality set -- the cheap ones just aren't cutting it.

Thanks ag2000! Yes, my wife saw it and we bought two sets. There were around 10 sets remaining this morning at the Centrepoint Mall on Yonge and Steeles.

There are in-store coupons but you can find the details here. You will need any of the CT mastercards to get the 20% discount.

By the way, what is the new non-stick coating that is believed to be safer than teflon?

I cannot comment on the quality but the price looks like the best you can get - I do not recall this one to go any lower.
