Yes....any rogers account is fine, regardless of prepaid or postpaid. (If you unlock it), any carrier in the world.

Yes..as easy as changing your sim card. If you don't activate the phone, you'll lose the 50 bucks credit, but you can sell your sim off to someone.

I had this before, it gets a passing grade as a phone w/ bluetooth, crappy mp3 audio, colour washed screen, crappy camera. The standby of 240 hours is unrealistic, normal use yields you 3 days before a recharge

No, you have misunderstood, what I meant is you must activate the sim card and keep it open for 30 days to get the rebate. It IS a 50 bucks chq. Just keep in mind, Sim card and the phone are separate, you don't need THAT sim card activated to get THAT phone working.

Here is an older version of the rebate coupon, I doubt the terms would have changed.

Account must be active for a minimum of 30 days before a rebate
cheque is issued. If upgrading, rebate cheque will be processed

$22.82 is the net price you have to pay exclude postage and $10 airtime

There is a good chance. Normally Circuit breaker is "online only" sale, but they did not list the price as a "sale" price, they used term "intro price".

So I guess, there is a possibility that their store system may have this price as well.

had there been stock, you could have web ordered and took delivery in store. I got 2 last month when they were $50 after MIR.

Out of interest, according to the salesguy and box supports it, these were originally meant for contract customers, these aren't officially PAYGO phones. OTOH, the only difference is that PAYGO phones get more generic packaging. Guess not too many people signed up to get this phone on contract!

That's right - if you're a 7-11 user there's no need to unlock this phone, just switch the SIM card and you're good to go

And I THINK it's the same with petro-canada mobile SIMs because they use the Rogers network too (not 100% on this).

That's right - if you're a 7-11 user there's no need to unlock this phone, just switch the SIM card and you're good to go

And I THINK it's the same with petro-canada mobile SIMs because they use the Rogers network too (not 100% on this).

I picked up this phone with the last $50 rebate deal and am using it with my 7-11 sim no problem... (thanks for posting the deal ag2000)

Thanks for the feedback, jericho129!
I can confirm that Petro Canada belongs to the same network as well.

7-11 is on Rogers network, it should work as is.

I can confirm that Petro Canada belongs to the same network as well....and Fido too. I've been using a Rogers Touch with Fido for awhile, and didn't unlock it for the first few weeks that I had it.

Fido uses the same network as Rogers as Rogers bought Fido a few years back.

Fido uses the same network as Rogers as Rogers bought Fido a few years back.Uh yeah, I know  - that's why I added Fido to the list of GSM providers of which you can pop their SIM into a Rogers locked phone and it will still work. Not to mention the fact that I stated that I used my Fido SIM in a Rogers locked phone.

ok...i just picked mine up in store...i've been reading both threads and am still a little confused as to how i can get the $50 rebate back?

i have a monthly rogers plan right now...can i just activate this pay as you go sim card and take it out, and then put in my regular sim card. does that qualify me as having used it for 30 days?

or do i have to use up whatever credit was on the sim card to begin with?

Thanks!

Go to the first post in this thread. There is a link to the MIR.

HUGE problem to activate the phone from Rogers.com website, it asked my credit card number and want to charge $10 on my cc, and it would not let me go to next step!!!

Heads up, for anyone wishing to collect the $50 MIR, for those who are upgrading their phone for their current Rogers Paygo phone, I was told (by the CSR when I phoned the toll free number on the rebate form to get more info.) that one should phone Rogers @ 1-866-594-9456 to give them the new IMEI #, so that when they check to make sure you have had the account already for 30 days, that THAT phone's IMEI matches the one that is on the MIR form.

2 Sony Erricson Rogers Pay As You Go Now I Am 1oo Dollars Rich

what???

btw, I just got this phone unlocked at pacific mall for $30. the guy said its 50/50 chance it will work..i got lucky he said...on ebay, they sell the code for $25 but you don't know if it works or not..

I activated the phone but my friend is using the line (sim card) in a different phone...does that matter in terms of getting the rebate? The PAYGO account was activated using this phones IMEI number though..any thoughts?
