Ryerson - CFIN300 help ?

I need some help with CFIN300, from anyone who has taken it before and remembers what the final exam was like. The exam is coming up soon and I just wanted some general Tips/advice on how to approach that exam and what they focus on and/or what types of questions do they ask??

I would appreciate any help, as I am a kinda lost... >:( !!!

I gave it the "the thought of it creeps me out"

I just finished it during the spring session, May-June?
Ended up with a B-, which is HIGH for me. I am not going to lie though as I did not do this test without some... external help.. (the guy in front of me).

My exam, with Anselm Mercy, was 50 m/c and was MAJORITY the last two chapters, 12 and 13 I believe. Expected return and what not.

Very little theory, maybe 8 in total.

My advice, do all the lyryx, again , and make sure you know the last two chapters WELL and all of the tax shield stuff... those are really complicated.

AND....bring extra batteries for your calculator...

Let me add to my own post, for anyone else taking it.

This exam was also beyond creepy (for me at least). You could know everything about the course material but if you dont have any practice you get screwed. You get 3.6 mins per question - which isn't bad, but sometimes not enough.

There were a ton of questions related to mortgages - PV/FV and the whole shebang, quite a few questions on the tax shield stuff. Lots of portfolio questions (ch 12 & 13), what the return/risk is, portfolio weights and a few questions on the cash flow from assets/shareholders/bondholders and about 5 or 6 on bonds, I think one on supernormal dividend growth.

My advice, prepare well in advance and practice the use of the calculator as much as possible. Some of those questions were just a killer - multiple payments over the years when someone borrows from you, conversions to EPR, EAR etc.

I ended up with a A-
and the exam is pretty hard. You need to practice and also understand your stuff as the exam questions are structured a little bit diffrently then what you get used to from the homework.

I took it this summer and I dont know how I would have been able to get through it with a fullcourse load. Its a challenging course but its rewarding.
