Trying to decide between the two printers below.
Samsung SCX-4828FN (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10108841&logon=&langid=EN)
Canon MF4690 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10096811&catid=10781)
The Samsung seems like the better deal but I wonder if the Canon is a better brand/quality.
Suggestions?

For the printer, try to get one with a print engine; that allows you to use it with a print server - in case you want to share it on your network.
Best Buy has the MF4270 on sale, but its networkable if you need that:

Was going to start a new thread before I saw this.
How about a multifunction laser monochrome printer for under 200?
I don't care about networking
The criteria is:
Auto document feeder
Colour scanner
Photocopier
Fax
Toner <$100

Well the cost is not the problem. It's which one to get.
I've actually ordered both :) Just wondering which one to cancel.
Both the printers I chose are networkable.

Not really sure what to tell you. That's why I started this thread.
The printers I chose are:
- less than $300
- Networkable
- Duplex
- Auto Document Feeder
- Scanner/Fax/Copier/Printer
Not sure what the toner costs.
I think I did see Furtureshop & Best Buy had a couple multifunctions on sale that might meet your criteria. Check their flyers.
I'm really just looking for comments on Samsung & Canon Multifunction quality/service.

Not too sure about its capabilities, but here is one < $200 from Memory Express.

Pretty sure NCIX or a similar Ontario store would have comparable prices.
As for Canon vs. Samsung, I like to know why aimfox thinks Canon is better?

Yup, I was eyeing that one from my research earlier. Only thing is I heard it has a horrible quality scanner/fax. Can anyone confirm this, or prove it wrong?
And also the print saver, I heard it uses so little ink that it turns into a light grey.

I vote Samsung.

With the lack of info and the numerous Google searches, I'm leaning towards the Samsung too.
I've also checked the MF4270 tha coolspot mentioned and it seems that it is better than the MF4690.
I really can't figure out why but a simple look at the feature list proves it.
So it's a toss now between:
Canon MF4270
Samsung SCX-4828FN
Both are around $250 and the Samsung seems to allow scanning using the Auto-Document Feeder as well as the flatbed.
Can't seem to find anywhere that says the Canon can do this too.
Anymore comments would be appreciated too!

Why not HP? They are usually more expensive but better quality, quieter, and better driver support. HP printers are usually a bit more difficult to refill (more steps involved), while Samsung laser printers are the easiest.

OMG!!! Thanks dude! I even have a coupon for 10% off :)
How long can toner last just sitting around I wonder?
I'm thinking of buying 2 or should I just get 1 since toner lasts so long?

I wanted HP but I could not find any HP coming close to the features I wanted and the Samsung was on sale at the time and the best deal I could find.

NCIX has a few of these Okidata or Oki printers around. Nice japanese printers. They're not as dirt-cheap as other brands so not many people buy them, but they're solid.
Samsung laser printer for $50.

Don't know how much you really need a multi-function one. But get one with an auto-document-feeder or ADF. This one looks like it has one:

Doesn't look like you're looking for high-end stuff anyway.
