A recently released book, Vegas Die (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegas_Die), has hidden a dagger somewhere in the Las Vegas area that can be redeemed for $25,000 with the publisher. Since I'm obsessed with these sorts of hunts and with Vegas, this is all I can think about these days.

I'm hoping to get more eyes on some of these puzzles and get some collaboration going so I figured RFD would be a good place to start.. The author has stated that anyone can solve this but feels that ultimately a trip to Vegas will be needed to recover the dagger (alternatively, if you can describe the location within 15ft you can also win). There is a 3 year time limit.

To wet your apatite, here is an image from the book - ANY & ALL comments are welcome as I have made no progress on this one:

The community (http://multimatter.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8) on this hunt is pretty small as the book was just recently published. We also don't have too much of a sniff as to how it all comes together yet.. at least one puzzle has been solved (http://multimatter.com/wiki/index.php?title=Vegas_Die:_Card_Suit_Puzzles#Part_ 2_Solution) by using Morse code.

...anyone have any thoughts on the above napkin?

note: if you're interested, you can buy the book from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Vegas-Die-Mystery-Stephen-Grogan/dp/0980116406/) or from the official site (http://questmystery.com). I'm hoping more people buy the book as well as the author has comitted to releasing a clue this month if a specific sales target is met.

Evidence of what? There hasn't been a crime committed (Unless I'm missing something?)

I think that there is a good possibility that it is not a physical dagger buried somewhere. In one interview with the author they questioned him as to what exactly we were looking for.. he was, of course, tight-lipped but he did say that when a Questor (a term he applies to participants in the hunt) sees it, they will immediately know it. He went on to say that he doesn't think it will get nabbed by anyone other than a Questor - either because nobody would just stumble upon it or if they do see it they wouldn't give it a second look.

for all we know it may be a dagger hanging on the wall in a museum or under the glass in a pawn shop. A painting of a dagger in a gallery, etc.. the author has also repeatedly said in media appearances "remember... nothing is as it seems."
