What do you mean by qualified?
And yes, at least in the faculty of education, you work on two degrees for 5 years.

My gf just graduated from concurrent.
You work for 2 degrees in 4 years.
And the work load is definitely higher than a single degree program.

It's a very, very good program.
Only one I know of though is Queens, does any other university have that program?

York has one.
And it takes 5 years. Most people enter the program officially after they have completed year 1 of their first degree. Or if you do the consecutive program, it still takes 5 years to complete both, however you can do your main degree wherever you want.

Queen's has a really good concurrent program. Not sure if there is one for all faculty tho. I know it does for science (my friend is in the program). Apparently, you spend first 4 years finishing your degree on your major, than 1 year on concurrent education. So its like 5 year program.

Laurier offers a Concurrent Education program. Quite a few people in my residence building were taking that program while I was there for a year taking Criminology before I transferred.
Aside from that I can't say whether it is a great program or not.

not sure at queens but that sounds more like a consecutive thing.
concurrent would be doing both degrees at the same time, therefore you would have placement + courses related to your b.ed alongside your regular degree
But like many have said the first year is the "whatever" year and 2nd - 5th year is when you get into the program and complete it.

I'm in the concurrent program at York University. It's a good program the way it works is that you add a year to your undergraduate degree and take courses from both your undergraduate degree and education at the same time. You have to dedicate one day for your placement and in years 2 and 3 you are required to do a month block after your spring exams (so you are in school an extra month).
You can do business and concurrent at the same time. My teachable is actually business, but my undergraduate isn't in business so i've been taking the business courses on top of my undergraduate and education courses.
You could transfer to york and then apply for concurrent but you may want to find out how many credits you will receive.
