So during Frosh week, engineers have to write some test on math, physics, and chemistry to see the quality of new students. How difficult is this test? What format is it in (MC, short answer?) and should I even bother studying for it?

There's a prep session for it. They will teach you some stuff and you can study for it on the night of.

The test is relatively doable given you have thorough understand of high school sciences, and preferably taken a look at your first year textbooks.
Don't stress it too much, but don't take it too lightly either - they can alter some things later on such as PEY acceptances and such.
When I wrote it there was no MC, and all are in the form of long answers. Just write it as any other test. Write all assumptions, if you don't know how to approach the problem. The thought process means much more than the actual answer.

Oh man, this test is ridiculous. I'm in LifeSci and I could hear the screams of the engineers from my residence.

yeah from what I remember there is no MC either, pretty much all short and long answer.
Don't need to study all summer for it but if you really want check out the prep session the night before but yeah, just make sure you do it.

It's no big deal, if you got into engineering you are not going to flunk it and even if you do, nobody gives a damn.
