If I remember correctly, schedules will come out when you go for your orientation. I think you can start screwing around with them sometime around the first week of school.

wow another one... i meet a lot of people like you at ryerson that cant read and follow directions i guess its a common illness around here.
Maybe 2nd time around will do the trick?

Amen to previous post.
Your schedule, is released on the 9th. August 9th 2008. August 9th 2008, which is a Saturday in the year 2008. Good?
After that, depending on your year, you have 1-2 days to adjust it according to your preferences.

Yup, the schedule you're looking at says the schedule for THIS week, not for your first week of school. Change the date to any date in September 08 and it'll give you the schedule.

Its when you go online to my.ryerson.ca, pick your electives (if you are eligible to, depends on your program), and change around classes (if possible).

I'm so sad, I didn't get my schedule :(
It's only cause I'm a direct entry student and you'll have to make up you're own schedule once the enrollments open... for me it's opening August 19th I guess the same time as the 3rd year students...
don't understand why Ryerson lets you pick classes so late in August. I know some people at York who already picked up their classes back in July!
Plus ya I find Ryerson so completely confusing!

Aug 9th, 2008, 02:29 PM
Yeah Ryerson is kind of weird like that. I'm going into my 4th year and I never underststood why they do things the way they do. It doesn't make any sense, you can see your classes and when they are offered and whatnot... but you can't make changes till the following week.

IMO that part makes sense. This way you can think about how you want to organize it, and then on the day of the appointment make any needed changes.

Got a quick question regarding on the schedule, I'm a tranfser student and it says my courses are transfered. But when I look at my schedule, those courses are there..... Wouldn't they replace those courses with courses I haven't taken that are needed to graduate?
Thanks

Ryerson simply has the worst administration of all the schools and this isn't a uoft student trying to bash another school because it's not u of t

you're a transfer student and you got a schedule? I guess i sort of count as a transfer student (I got in for direct entry) and I didn't even get a schedule at all?! What year are you going in and where did you transfer from?
Well you get to change your schedule around in a couple of weeks so don't worry just drop them and add the one's you need

Well I'm a transfer student from York (Did 1st year at York) going into "first year" but will be doing 2nd year courses, so I will graduate in my 3rd year in Ryerson. So I don't think i'm a direct entry (You are from College right?)

i just checked my schedule now, and i need to verify something quickly.
i just went through my first year as a computer science student, and from the second semester onwards i was trying to transfer into ITM.
so long story short i took intro to management (MGT 200) in 2nd semester, and i had to end up taking two courses in the spring to raise my CGPA. in the spring i took a sociology course and marketing I (MKT 100). i got into ITM.
so now on my schedule for Fall 2008, it shows i am once again enrolled in MKT 100. i checked the self-service degree progress and my spring courses show up, marks and everything.
at the bottom of the self-service degree report it shows courses that are not used towards my degree. they are computer science I, discrete math, and fundamentals of programming (ITM 200).
im confused. do i have to take MKT 100 again???

Yeah maybe that is why you don't have a schedule, part-times and college transfer students are different.

you most likely dont have to take mkt again its probably a glitch you can go and ask someone to make sure tho
again if you guys are 2nd year and put the courses in your course intentions in may but took it in the spring then they will show up on your fall semester but you dont need to take them. Remove them from your schedule.

I also had two of those last semester not including the 2~3 hours spares. Such a damn hassle especially since it pushes courses late and I end up going home during rush hour, always fun fighting that even if I live relatively close.
My schedule looks somewhat better this time around though (I believe I have only one spare and it's only an hour, must be a first).

So I got my schedule, and would like to enrol in one more course. Where can I find out on what day and at what time that course is offered? I looked at the Calender on Ryerson's website but cannot find any class schedule. or do I have to wait till my 'enrolment appointment' to check the course schedule?

To all students who have taken a courses but it is still showing up on your schedule, you can drop it. But for people who are transferring credits and those courses are still shown in your schedule, you gotta call up the transfer credit department to see if your credits are accepted and then you can drop them.... As for me I don't know if they are transferred or not.
Help please!!
Also I submitted transfer credit for 5 courses and only 4 courses are shown.... the other one is no where to be found
called up the number and its all automated machine..... and choosing courses for me is this wed!!!?!?!?

you can look at when the courses are offerered with prof names under the "course intention/course enrolment" tab under RAMSS. Then click on Fall 2008, then add classes, then click on the magnifying glass, then enter like ITM in the first textbox then 100 in the second textbox for ITM100 and click search and it will show you all the times and what profs are offered for ITM100.

Thanks, got it :) One more question, when the course description says, for example, "restriction: nursing, occupational/public helath", does that mean students in those programs cannnot take the course? or is the course available only to students in those programs?

So I got in as a transfer student REALLY LATE for GCM. (Made the wait list.)
The schedule I got was pretty bad for me but miraculously there was 1 spot available in a couple of sections I wanted to swap. I was able to swap into the sections, and everything was peachy.
TODAY I log in to double check my schedule for tomorrow and IT CHANGED BACK TO THE PREVIOUS SCHEDULE THAT I WAS GIVEN. Do they just change your schedule for fun or something? What can I do!
