The mosquite are quite the blood suckers this year. I'm guessing its due the rain thats coming in lately.

I've been bit around 15 times. Post how many times you got the bite.

Zero...

Is it weird that I don't think I've ever been bitten by a mosquito in my life?

Perhaps you are like me, you get bit, but don't notice because you don't get a reaction to the bite. I only know that I've been bitten because i will notice the misquito on my arm or leg, but don't feel it. I won't get itchy and i don't swell up. You would never know i was bitten unless you saw the action by the misquito

However, horse flies have taken a few chucks out of me in my life time. Black flies are pesky little buggers that will leave little red swollen marks on me, usually the back of my neck.

Never been stung by a bee, but I have gotten stung by a sweat bee.

Even with bug spray, too many to count. Group of ten people wearing the same bug spray and I'm the ONLY one to get bitten. My blood must be gourmet or something.

The Yukon once had a closed ballot referendum to see what the territory's national bird should be. Citizens were asked to simply write their vote on a sheet of paper and the votes would be tallied with the majority winning.

The Mosquito came in first place with over 65% of the votes...but because it wasn't actually a bird, the runner up won instead...the Raven

hmm now that I think about it so far I only had 1 or 2 max for the year but it's odd as the years before I used to get 1 practically everyday.

Despite using repellent, I was viciously attacked at Algonquin Park last month. One of them even drew so much blood that it was trickling down my arm! I must have had around 8 bites or so that weekend on my hands, legs, and neck.

Since then, I've been bite free but tonight at my friend's house, I got two bites but I did not scratch them and the inflammation has since gone down and there is no itchy feeling.

That After Bite stuff really helps a lot though. Highly recommended.

Up here in the Yukon OFF is called ON.

The best mosquito repellent up here is Muskol in the small oil bottles. It stinks but works for hours all day. I still have three bottles in different backpacks, including 5 bottles in my "bugout" pack

Try one of those sonic mosquito repellers that you can get from dealextreme.com. Some say they work, and others say they don't. Only costs a few bucks to find out.

The 2 on one side of the neck, 3 on the other. One on the side of one arm.

After the crazy amount of rain we had lately, I've probably been bitten upwards of 100 times in the last week while golfing. West nile, here I come.

Went to a cottage in the Minden area a couple of weekends ago. After a weekend of practically bathing in Muskol, and avoiding the bites entirely, I got nailed 29 times in about 20 minutes when I let my defenses down just before we came back (happed to be around dusk when we were packing up the car.) Horrid! Running total this summer is about 40 now. Been a particularly bad year. I usually only get a few a summer.

Do you ever find that maybe a bit of clawing away at those bites a little bit of liquid comes out (not blood). Is that the salivia of the mosquito coming out after your body has fought it? I don't but really want these bites to go away

I found the best temporary cure for the itch is mint tooth paste. Rub it in with some water over the bites, and you have itch relief for 4-5 hours.

Interesting. Will give it a try for my next mosquito bite.

I have four right now but they are almost gone and no longer itchy. I hate mosquito bites so much.

If i am with a crowd of 1000, and there is ONE mosquito around, you can be sure i will be it's target. I hate them little suckers!
I highly recomend the new Off, Smooth and Dry. Smells better, it's dry and it works.
