Good source of protein I suppose. Remember Simba the Lion King grew up eating bugs and insects (or grubs so they call it).

Everything you've ever seen onscreen or read in sci-fi novels were inspirations from nature. I think all living things however strange and bizarre is what makes this planet so interesting. Like sea creatures living in or around the hydrothermal vents have no pigment and are blind or have no eyes at all; that's a real mind job but it's a beautiful causation (is that right?) of how nature works.

As long as that thing and I can reach a mutual understanding that it must never make contact with me, then we're fine. The picture didn't look so bad as a thumbnail.

i've seen a frog (forgot the name) that does the same thing. It's back has a bunch of eggs and baby frogs hatch from it.

The wasp proceeds to chew off half of each of the roach's antennae.[2] The wasp, which is too small to carry the roach, then leads the victim to the wasp's burrow, by pulling one of the roach's antennae in a manner similar to a leash. Once they reach the burrow, the wasp lays a white egg, about 2 mm long, on the roach's abdomen. It then exits and proceeds to fill in the burrow entrance with pebbles, more to keep other predators out than to keep the roach in.
With its escape reflex disabled, the stung roach will simply rest in the burrow as the wasp's egg hatches after about three days. The hatched larva lives and feeds for 4-5 days on the roach, then chews its way into its abdomen and proceeds to live as an endoparasitoid. Over a period of eight days, the wasp larva consumes the roach's internal organs in an order which guarantees that the roach will stay alive, at least until the larva enters the pupal stage and forms a cocoon inside the roach's body. Eventually the fully-grown wasp emerges from the roach's body to begin its adult life. Development is faster in the warm season.
Adults live for several months. Mating takes about one minute, and only one mating is necessary for a female wasp to successfully parasitize several dozen roaches.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Emerald Cockroach Wasp (fitting name).

lol so today I sent this pic to my friend, and when he opened it in firefox, he almost threw up, then he tried to close it, but firefox wasn't responding and he couldn't do anything on his computer. even the taskbar didn't come up. And he couldn't turn off his computer, because he had couple of word files open that he didn't save. So he was sitting there for 15 minutes, with this picture on the monitor trying to figure out a way to save his work.
but he had to turn off his computer, because he was sick of looking at the pic, and the computer just froze.
