this year, there was this new option for students to "late withdraw" from a course before exam begins...dont even have to petition.
im currently taking this economics course (prerequisite for commerce) but im doing so bad.....is it better to LWD?
if i do LWD, and retake the course again, would it still be considered on first attempt? since i dont have a final mark?

thanks!

LWD would be marked on your transcript, which potentially could raise some red flags. A failing grade would look worse though.

if you are in commerce, and not planning on progressing into graduate study/ professinal schools (med./dentistry/pharmacy), then mark isn't important, even with a failed course. I know someone graduated with ~2.5GPA, and now working in big downtown accounting firms (one of the Big4), making lots of dough ~60k+. Because once you applied for a job in these companies, they don't care wut ur mark is. All they look for, is your actual work experience!

Having said this, try your best to avoid failing a course. I had one failed course, but didn't hurt my GPA much, and luckily, i was accepted by waterloo/UT pharmacy:cheesygri . Med school --> no luck :(
