Hi,

I'm currently a York university student and going into my 2nd year. I already signed a lease hear at the york village - housing complex right by york- but in my 3rd year i'd really like to move around the square 1 area in mississauaga (preferably as close as possible to SQ1) cuz most of my friends are there and i just need a change of scenery really, im sick of living AT my school and this crappy north york area. no, i dont have a car and its only a 35 min go bus ride to york from SQ1.

any suggestions for a cheap yet GOOD building around square one? would this be recommended for a student? im looking for one bedroom (bachelor's would be pushing it cuz i want some space!) and my budget is like 700-800$ month max...remember im a student on osap its a lot of $$.

i have no furniture but id be saving up starting now and buy a crapload at ikea. any suggestions?

Square One, I guess you don't really have a Harvard JD. Hhhahaha, poser. Seriously, delete your account and start again.

What the hell?

Anyway to OP, do you have a better reason for moving other than change of scenery and closer to friends?
You say you're on OSAP and you're a student with no money but you're willing to spend money on bus fare when housing closer to campus is probably cheaper than in the Sq1 area.
Anyway, if you do I'd suggest renting with roommates because it will get expensive.

lots of condos in that area.
Look into that, I'm sure there's always someone buying and selling. I know someone just moved into one. Nice.

There are tons of condos in the area, but you're asking for a cheap but good building in the area. Finding something (without sharing) for $700 - $800/month would be very difficult unless you're looking for a basement apartment rather than in one of the nice buildings. I'm not saying it is impossible, but you'd really have to look hard and it would be difficult to find in one of the nicer condos in the Square One area. It might be more possible in your price range if you were willing to look at 2 bedrooms with a roommate.

At least you have the year to look around and see what the options are.
