Anybody knows a good & not expensive place to rent a car in Toronto?
Strange, as of Jun 31 all rental companies raised their prices twice, now can't find a single place to rent a car cheaper than 100 per weekend :(

I rented at this place called rent-a-wreck. It's been around for a long while. I rented here because they were the only ones that did not charge an underage fee. Also their rates are lower but that is because their cars are older. If $$ is the #1 thing you are concerned of, this is the place for you and me.

I rented a 2004 Chevy impala last weekend. The car was visually not very appealing as it had scraped paint pretty much all over. The breaks were squealing but effective. The passenger window did not fully go up and you could hear it on the highway (but not so much that you had wind in your face). The people were nice and decent. At this particular location they also fix damaged cars. When I first got their, the sight of cracked windshields, busted bumpers and some totaled cars made me almost want to turn back. They have a $1000 deductible on thier insurance and also charge $0.12 for additional KM over 200/day.
But overall the car was safe, clean and it did the job.

However, you might also want to see this thread about this company. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=465535

I would personally rent from here again. (At least until I'm 25).

last time I had a rental car was when I was getting some work done on my Car and it was 30$ a day at enterprise... granted it was for a subcompact Mazda3 POS, but it got me where I needed to go... that was about 8 months ago and on a weekday.
