WDW244H1 Labour Relations
WDW260H1 Org Behaviour
GGR252H1 Marketing Geography
ARC132H1 Contemp Architecture
Looking to get a decent mark, not keen on writing essays and (looking to) meeting people outside of Enginerding.
My essay writing skills are hit or miss. If I think I did a good job, it turns out to be bad. And if I think I do awful, it's better than I expected.

Didn't you read what I wrote in your other thread? DO NOT TAKE GGR252.
My friend who took WDW260 says it is quite good.
Also don't take ARC132, you will kill yourself.

i've heard different about GGR252...
i think the amount of effort you have to put in this course is not that great.
but it may be different for each person.
however this course fills up quick.. there's probably a waiting list now.

Ask ANYONE who took GGR252 last year. I took it last year because I've heard that it's easy as well. But they started cracking down on it, taking marks off for no reason. Out of 20 people I know that took the course, only 1 person got 80 and above. Mind you, these 20 people are the top people in my program. This is the LOWEST mark I got, if you want your elective to be lower than all your engineering courses then by all means.
That being said, the workload is next to zero. They just mark it really badly, I think they're doing this because they realized it was viewed as a bird course. The content is still easy to study for (it takes less than 1 night), but don't expect a high mark.

Yup I took GGR252 two years ago and it is no longer a bird course. The course material is easy, but the TAs mark the assignments quite tough. Avoid it if you can, but ANT253 is still okay.

phy205 - physics and everyday life... easy course...but a lot of work... 5 problem sets, 2 tests, 1 final, 1 essay. but everything is marked easy and material is straight forward..
ast101/201 - just read the book and do good

ANT253H1
Language & Society [26L]
This course introduces linguistic analysis with a view towards its application to the study of the relation between culture and social structure. The interplay of pronunciation, grammar, semantics, and discourse with rituals, ideologies, and constructions of social meaning and worldview are discussed in tandem with the traditional branches of linguistic analysis—phonology, morphology, grammar, syntax, and semantics. The objective of the course is to provide a broad framework for understanding the role of language in society.
Not too interested...
Yeah, IBOPM you warned me about GGR. But it actually sounds kind of cool, what type of people are in the WDW classes?

The content isn't bad at all for GGR. In fact it can be very interesting even though it is very simple and easy. It's just that they will NOT allow you to get a mark above 80. That's the only problem. If you don't care about getting 80 or above and are happy with a low 70s then go for GGR definitely.

ant253 - the prof that teaches this course, Danesi, is a great lecturer.
you won't get bored, he's very funny, and goes at a very slow pace with lots of examples
