I saw this Telus plan the other day and thought I would post it for anyone looking for a basic plan with evenings and weekends.
Its pretty much 20% off the Talk Alot 25 and Talk Alot 40.
Talk Alot 25:
Price: $20 ($5 savings)
100 anytime minutes
Evenings/Weekends starting at 6pm
Call waiting, Voicemail 3, Conference calling.
2/3 year contract.
(3 months local unlimited calling)
Talk Alot 40:
Price: $32 ($8 savings)
350 anytime minutes
Evenings/Weekends starting at 6pm
Call waiting, Voicemail 3, Conference calling.
2/3 year contract.
(3 months local unlimited calling)
Note: I was able to get the EPP $17.30 yesterday when I compared with other rogers plans. As well, I also got 2500 outgoing txt/unlimited incoming, and caller ID for a total of $35 taxes included. I had an amazing sales rep and had to try a few times so YMMV.

if your a current client, u should be aiming to switch to the EPP 17.30 plan, instead of this one, as its the same, except u get 200 daytime mins.

My friend called just today and he's on the EPP 17.30 right now, and he talked about extending his contract with a new 3 year deal, and they offered to keep him on the 17.30, so yes, while its no longer available, if your an existing client, im sure you can convince them to give it to you.

Gosh, seems like plans are getting more expensive. 3 yrs ago I got SuperTalk 15:
150mins,EW,CID,VM,CW for 15$/month (or 25$/month after everything)
I think my evenings might start at 9pm though, which is a pretty big difference I suppose.

What would be the final price (after SAF and 911 and any other BS fees they add) plus PST for those in Ontario ?
Thanks

what are the requirements of the EPP plan? Do you have to work for a particular company?

final price would be 20 + 6.95 (access fee) * .75 (911 charge) + tax.
total with tax is $31.30

right now it is the best rate for EW from telus i believe. I would use it as more of a foundation when negotiating a plan and try to squeeze in a few extras.

EPP is the best ****, and if you're an existing client you can ask for free CID and some free text messages/month
17.30 + SAF + 911 is 25$, after tax in BC it's 28$/month

Success!
Thanks for the heads up on the LNR line dudes :)
I am only 6months into my contract, decided that I would like an iPhone instead of my pearl so I'm giving my line to my mother in law and I'll take her Rogers line instead. Problem was that I am supposed to stay on the Data pack for 1 year min or else they charge you $100 Early Data Cancelation (I didn't remember reading that - telus and their damn ECF!) but after some sweet talking to the CSR and explaining to her that my mother in law has no need for data, she offered to do the following for me:
- EPP 17.30/month
- Free VM Basic/CID
- 50% off my data pack until the end of the year when I can cancel it ($7.50/month)
So total is $34.13 after taxes and SAF, etc. That's only $4 more /month for the next 6 months and my mother in law gets twice as many minutes, early evenings and weekends, and CID/VW free. That's a pretty good deal for a under $20 plan. Thanks again!

What do you guys think of this plan that telus offered me as a retention plan? Keep in mind my contract expires June 2009.
Re-sign a 3 year contract
$150 for a htc touch diamond
I get to keep my EPP 17.30 + caller ID + 250 txt msgs/month
$15 for web/email/IM
+ $100 fee (because normally to get the $15 plan, you NEED to have a voice plan of $30 per month, but by letting me keep EPP 17.30, they are just going to charge me $100 flat fee)
Sound good? Should I resign? I like the diamond...but dont know if i should wait till my contract ends to get somethign better. The $15 for data plan sounds nice + keeping the EPP.

It sounds like a good plan for sure, especially being able to keep the EPP and get the $15 data plan.
I will give you a few caveats to keep in mind though:
1) think carefully about signing a 3 year deal right now with new providers on the horizon. While they may not offer a better deal, you might be in a better bargaining position and do even better a few months down the road when we start to hear some rumblings from the new entrants.
2) the Diamond is $150 for anyone with a 3 year contract, so they're not giving you a deal there other than allowing you to do it while still under contract.
3) I don't know, but the $100 fee to allow you to keep the EPP (when you're supposed to have a $30+ voice plan) may be standard. I believe Rogers has a similar fee but it's only $50.
All in all, I'd say it's a good plan, but just be sure you're not just getting what virtually anyone can get. To sign a 3 year deal with them now, with the new players coming on board in a year or so, they should be offering you some extra sweet incentives.

just called up
got EPP1730 with no fighting whatsoever
First offer was 2 years contract on EPP1730
i countered 1 year (that's what i was looking for)
was accepted because she made an "exception"
Offered to add 50 mins on top of 200 mins
I traded that for spark 10
Probably could have gotten the 50 mins AND the spark but couldn't be bothered since I don't go over 200 anyway
been with telus since they were clearnet!

Any one have any tips on how to get a better deal for existing retention-plan customers? (I'm in the first year of my 3 year contract I signed after scoring a sweet retentions deal..) I pay $25/month now and all I want to do is reduce the monthly bill, not interested in adding any new features etc.
Last time I called, the CSR shut me down by offering the 17.30EPP but then telling me that I'd be losing all the perks I have with my current retentions plan!! But this thread is giving me hope...:?:

I just called and told them my plan was almost up. Told them one of my friend was getting the same plan as me for 17.30 and was it possible for her to switch it over to that. She said she could and would I like to renew my plan now. I told her I'm waiting for the htc touch pro that's coming out in dec so if i renewed now I wouldn't be able to get that phone w/ a discount. She agreed and said she can give me the plan w/o renewing. Bottomline is if you're nice they're usually nice back =) O...and I also asked about throwing in the free txt msging and she said there's nothing right now that she can do..she looked a lil' more and said she can offer me 3 months free of 250 txt msgs but that's the best she can do...of course i took it =P So for all that doubted that the 17.30 plan is gone..it's not..just ask and you shall receive.
