I am in Montreal, and just got a parking ticket because I punched in the wrong parking spot number while paying for the spot. I did not realize this until I found a parking ticket when I returned to my car. I still have the pay stub.
Has anyone experience this problem before, can I contest the parking ticket?

Normally I'd say no - you entered the wrong number, so you are at fault. However, I know someone who was in exactly the same position you are now, and by showing the parking ticket and the stub that display the fact that you indeed paid for the spot... they got off just fine. How much was the parking ticket for? Is it worth an hour of your time to clear it up?

The ticket is $40, is not such a large amount, but it suck to have to pay it.

This is the one rare time where I would say asking on RFD is a better bet then calling in. If quebec is anything like Toronto TAGS your going to be on hold forever.
I didn't pay a quebec parking ticket a few years back on my Ontario tag and nothing happened. Someone else posted here a while ago that they managed to garnish his wages in ontario, but I think that had something to do with him working for the government.
