Hey guys,
I was looking at the latest wal-mart flyer, and noticed an air compressor on sale for 50$. It's a 1 gallon compressor, made by Campbell Hausfeld. It says in the item description that it's 100psi, and comes with a 5pc inflation kit and 25' recoil hose.
So I'm wondering, what is the average price for an air compressor? Is this a good deal, or just money down the toilet for a pos product? I'm looking to use it mostly for air brush paint (I realize you have to buy attachments separately). Will this do the job? Honestly, I've got very little knowledge of what is/isn't a good compressor. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks!

It's pretty crappy, but it depends on what you want to do.

Do you want to just inflate a couple of soccer balls? It'll be good enough for that.

Check the CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating on the compressor and be sure that it exceeds the rating for your sprayer.

It's about as small as they come so don't expect it to run any air powered tools.

Cheap oilless compressors are terrible. They're really noisy and will distract you while you're doing your art. Get the type where you put oil in.

I have a 1 or 2 gallon compressor (can't remember) and it is fine for air brushing on a toy model scale or inflating soccer balls. That's about it.

The capacity on a model like that is so small that it'll have to recharge after pumping some air into each of the tires of your car.

The biggest "tool" is can power will usually be a nail gun. Anything else is too much for it.
