my Interstate Mega-Tron Plus MTP-24 800CCA battery died on me when i tried to start the car this morning
so i got it boosted and now it is cranking again even if i shut the car off but i dont think it will last long
it has 85 months warranty so my battery is still under warranty
but it is friday and 4PM and shops are closing so they wont have enough time to test the battery in order to give me a replacement
i got a group 25 battery from costco (the booklet says group 25 works) but it doesnt fit snuggly in the car as it isnt as wide as group 24
i havent installed it yet but i need to use the car tomorrow
so whats the return policy for costco's kirkland battery?
if i install it, can i still return it because it cannot fit tight enough in the car to prevent vibrations and battery damage?

Is there no clamping device to hold the battery in place on the battery tray?

My Kirkland also doesn't fill the full width of my battery bay but as far as I can tell the clamp keeps it in place very well. I wouldn't worry about it if you can clamp it down securely.
I don't think there is a problem with having a battery with a bigger CCA rating as long as it fits physically in the bay.
Also, I gotta gets me a Megatron battery too.

Out of curiousity, how much do batteries from Costco cost on average? I need to replace mine (I feel), i've been using a $30 used battery which starts the car fine, but I feel it isn't strong enough to support my AC, my stereo and my windows switches without stuttering a bit.

i dont want to clamp down too tight on the battery because i dont want to crack the plastic casing
my battery is their series 8/9 which runs for around $7x.xx right now
also they have optima red tops for around $139.xx with a $25 MIR so it will be around $114 after MIR before environmental tax and stuff
i have a 2001 Lexus GS300

If your Lexus uses the same clamping scheme as my Toyota, you will bend the clamp bar before you crack the battery housing.
You will find that the optima battery also won't fill the bay width-wise.
Unless you're drifting, I think the lateral forces on the battery are nothing compared to the front-back forces.
