View Full Version : CAA towing: do i need to BE there with the car???

so i need to get 'my' beater car towed from a garage back to my house...im back at my house, so do i still have to go to the garage and wait for CAA to tow it? i've never used CAA bfore....cheers

I assume Yes. Last time I call towing to tow my Car to the garage, the driver needs to see my CAA membership card. They aren't going to risk to do any free tow. Imagine your friend has a break down somewhere and tell you to call your CAA to help him tow it away....doesn't make sense right?

Officially, yes. Unofficially, I have yet to show my CAA card, and I've made about 8 calls so far.

Probably depends on the driver then.....if it's a newbie....ya, show me.....if it's a senior.....freak it......they paid by KM I think.....(correct me if I'm wrong)

isn't CAA covered for the person, so that person can tow any car as long as they are there?

CAA members can have any car towed. If you didn't have to be there in person, you could just request random cars be towed to random places.
