Roadside Assistance

I am looking for some help on getting roadside assistance.

I have been looking at CAA, Canadian Tire, Costco and have just had an email from Presidents Choice about their new roadside policy.

I am not sure who I should use as my husband and I only have 1 car between us. The car is only 4 years old but as we have a small child I would like the peace of mind that if anything happened I can call for help.

Also I wanted to be covered in the USA if we ever go over the border and anything happens to the car.

Could someone please give me some advice.

I beleive CAA covers members in USA as well, they are call AAA there and I think they are affilate.

I have CAA for few years, used for towing and battery tests when my alternator dead......save about 20-30$ for paying CT

Getting some discount for events admission and some travel stuffs as well.

I use Telus Roadside Assistance. 5 calls per year and a max of $50 per tow. Valid in any car you are travelling in and will work in the States.

$40/year. Though I've never had to use it so I can't tell you if it is any good. And obviously only any good to you if you are a Telus customer. ;)

I had the canadian tire one for a year it was pretty cheap $30 for the year it cover the vichele because my wife and I share a car and it came with 1 free oil change and 3or 4 copouns for $15 OIL changes they use really cheap oil though. I had to use them once because I locked my keys in the car and they took less then 30 minutes to get the car open.

But I'm not sure about the USA or anything I just got it beauce it was so cheap $30 for a whole year, also it was the silver one 10 Kms tows or to the nearest CDN tire store witch kinda sucks.

10KM to the nearest CT........and then they gonan rip you off at the CT garage....I'm not so interested with CT oil change after hearing so many horrible stories at Ct garage neither......although 30$ is cheap.

For telus, so is 40$ per year...but everytime u tow, you have to pay 50$?

No, the first $50 is covered.

For example, I live in a small city. That $50 tow will cover me no problem from one end to the other. But If you live in Southern Ontario and need a tow from Brantford to Oakville, which might cost $120, you will pay $70 (ie:$120-50).

I was looking at that. My mum and dad have that from CAA and I was thinking I could add myself. But seems I have to live with them to be eligilble. So I just went with Telus. Seems okay, but the reason I went with them is because I've had a prepaid phone with them for more than 5 years. But I have no one to talk to so I've accumulated a HUGE balance. Figured $40 was fine.

well I tried to call Costco to get more information about their cover and they guy said he would call back ..... as yet hehas not!!!!!

Anyone know anything about the new Presidents Choice Roadside cover?

TD Gold Elite Visa includes roadside coverage for entire family including kids upto 23 year old, it includes 200km towing. The visa card costs $99 a year with 1 % rebate on spending using the card.

But how good are those TD road side service? Are they coming to help fast or takes hours to come?

I trust CAA more because I see their truck like everywhere...lol

Make up to 8 calls per year for Emergency Roadside Services including:

* Dead battery or flat tire service.
* Extrication from mud, snow or ditch.
* Keys locked in car.
* To the nearest repair facility (within 250 km of the breakdown).
* Gas delivery if your tank runs dry.
