Um..
Well basically I ordered it Friday night and it came Monday at 4..
I missed it as I was at work.. So I changed the address to my work address and got it Tuesday..

I am at work and tried to plug it in but nothing came up, I guess I will wait till 5 and do it on my laptop at home..

You might have problems syncing later on if you activate it from your work computer. I would wait until you get home to do it. Make sure you update to latest version of iTunes first...I think it's 7.7

Same thing here, was at work, changed address to work, just got it now. Plugged it into power to charge and it's saying
"No SIM card installed
Insert an unlocked and valid SIM to activate iPhone"

Ya, I was thinking that it wasnt a good idea to do it from work.

I will wait till I get home..

Also, the sim card that comes with it? Do I just use my other sim card?

thanks

The sim card that comes with it has to be activated if you have an existing one. Call Fido and give them the 20 digit on the sim card. I'm getting mine activated right now. You can eject the sim card by using the little metal tool that came with it and pushing into the little hole next to the audio jack.

wazabi: It came by UPS for me.. they left a UPS infonotice on my mailbox since I was not at home to sign for it. Mine was also shipped on Friday.

You can, but older SIM cards may not support the full features of the iPhone. So to skip troubleshooting steps, Fido is just telling people to use the SIM card that came with the iPhone.

Interesting note: I tried to bargain down a lower retention plan, but was told that it would not be doable because:
"We are not allowed to put monthly discounts on any lines with an iPhone. Apple is very closely monitoring monthly plans for discounts to ensure they are not present."

Why? I don't know, but that's what the CSR from Fido retentions told me.

Call rogers and they will give you the tracking number..

Ups was a little off..

I called in on Monday and they said they just received it from the rogers warehouse.. Then I got home and I got a notice that it had been delivered..

Weird..

I called in Monday night changing the address to my work.. Then tuesday I was sick so I called in at 930 saying I want it changed back to my home address.. She said it was okay cause they didnt change the address to my work yet so it will be delivered to my home again.. Yet they delivered it to my work..

Company policy, don't think it's Apple. If they find a discount, it will be removed and the employee will be fired.

Sounds like all the people reporting getting monthly discounts on their plans with an iPhone won't be happy when the first bill comes in.

Out of curiosity, what is your source for this?

except if your are an employee of course... =p

If you are looking for a tracking number, and you get one, it might not work on the ups website either ... =p
