First photos of 2010: Chevy Cruze,Cadillac SRX, Saab 9-4X,

In the now-infamous press conference from General Motors this morning, Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner not only spelled out GM's strategy to save itself from impending doom, but also revealed pretty much every upcoming GM vehicle that hadn't already been shown to the public. This includes the first photos of the 2011 Chevy Cruze, 2010 Cadillac SRX, 2010 Saab 9-4X, and the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. This comes in addition to official confirmation of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse, 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe and 2010 Cadillac CTS Wagon. So basically, along with GM's own downsizing, they're also putting plenty of enterprising spy photographers out of business too.

Chevrolet Equinox will be revamped and equipped with a new 2.3-liter, four-cylinder direct-injection engine.

I really like the Chevy Cruze.. I hope the rumour about the 1.4L Turbo engine being available for that car would come true... :D

Although the Big 3 has been going thru some tough times, as a consumer I would rather see more competition than less.... (hence I don't understand why some people seem to WANT the Big 3 to go down..?)

Can't say the same for the 9-4x though. However it might be one of the cars that can save Saab... (Saab fan here :) )

The 9-4X looks nice--an EX35 competitor perhaps?

If that last picture is the Cruze interior, they've definitely got a winner interior there--it's so much better than the god-awful Cobalt/Pursuit interior it's not even funny.

Yes, cobalt name is dead, well not entirely, cobalt will stay on as they introduce the cruze in mid-2010, Rick says it will be mid-2010, lutz says no cruze for NA, but then said yes to Edmonds.com. It will have the 1.4L turbo. interior is way better agreed, no choice, it is a global car, can't sell a $hitty interior to the Europeans. But my issue is the timing, they are releasing the cars in Europe mid next yr I believe, while North America is 2010 ahhh

The buick does look nice, never imagined I would say this.

The only car there worth even mentioning (IMO) is the buick. The rest are simply blah. Unfortunately, Buick will have to deal with the same challenge that Lexus and Cadillac have faced--to change their image from an oldfart's car.

The CTS has definately made this transition, the IS250 is trying...but the rest of their product respective product lines still have the stigma attached (same as lincoln for that matter). Before anyone gets in a huff, JDPower (I wish I had the link) has Lexus as one of the oldest average ages of an owner with a value above 50!

Will the Chevy Cruze will share the same platform as the Chevy Volt? They look very simular.

2010 models are still 10 to 14 months off from this point. The big 3 are trying to suppress the press hype that they are monolithic companies that can't turn on a dime.

Sad thing is, a business needs to adapt quickly in today's market. I'm suprised all 3 NA manufacturers have survived this long...

The question is to whom you are developing your cars. Looking at the new Buick or the CTS, their market is not the boomers. Personally I think it is geared to the 30 to 40 something dad, who still wants something that looks good, but can still haul the family comfortably. But typically, if you mention Buick, very few of us will rush out to look at the car. Of course, trying to capture this market, you are austricising your existing 50-70s crowd...so it is a risk.

As Buick in general, when I see a moderately well to do 60-70 couple, typically they are driving Buicks...ata least around here.

No, the 9-4X is Theta platform, [will be] built in Mexico. Actually all three "different" SUV/CUVs you see up there are the "same". The BRX/SRX/PROVOQ, Equinox, and 9-4X are all Theta cars...

I for one have been considering a CTS after my Integra lol..

Will have to fight the stigma though, most of my friends still think that it handles like a boat.

From the reviews, CTS handling is more sporty than comfy (lexus/buick) etc

Except it weighs a tonne and acceleration is slow for modern vehicles, unless you have the 5.7 or 6.0L or better yet the new blown engine. If you get the 3.2L even worse.. I dunno about the 2.8L, I'm sure that's horrible :D

Well, I am comparing it against TSX/IS250..which aren't FAST either.

If you want fast, grab a CTS-V, it will smoke the competition for what it costs used!

New CTS starts at $35k USD.
TSX is $29-32k
TL starts at $34k
IS starts at $31k
G35 starts at $32k

Even the DI 3.6L in the 08 CTS propels it 0-60 in 6.3 seconds.... I'd like a cts next time around too, but im really gonna miss my 4.6L northstar!

I'll agree that 6.3 is nothing to slouch at, but considering the '07 V6 Camry does it in a similar time, you'll have to get into the 5s to be something special nowadays ;)
