Compass? Patriot? Caliber? Something else?

My wife's Kia Sedona van is coming off lease at the end of August. I'm currently looking for a replacement vehicle, and I'm leaning towards the Compass/Patriot.

No pretensions here... She just needs a basic grocery-getter and something to shuttle around our two kids (9 and 6). The only real requirements are A/C and automatic tranny. I'd like to lease the vehicle with zero down, and keep the payments in the $300/month range (preferably lower!).

Anybody have one of those baby Jeeps? Comments on it? Is there something else I should be looking at?

How did you/your wife like the Kia and the service at the Kia dealer? If the experience was good, why not lease another Kia?

I'm guessing you want a smaller vehicle now (from the choices listed)... Did you consider the Rondo?

Loved the Kia and loved the dealer. It was actually our third vehicle from them!

Smaller vehicle isn't a priority now (though with gas prices, it's certainly a consideration). I've looked at the Rondo, but it was about $3,000 more than the Compass. :( Unless there's some promotion on that I don't know about...

Compass and Patriot really act their price, as in cheaply made. Don't know about the Rondo, but the $3K difference could be a great improvement in quality of the vehicle.

I just leased a 2008 Escape. Mine is a limited, but when I was pricing out the Compass and Patriot I found that once I added the extras it was more expensive than the 4cyl Escape, so I also steered clear due to that.

What about getting another Sedona? They are now cheaper than the the Rondo, at least cash purchase prices anyways. I was debating between a Sedona and a Patriot. End up getting the Sedona as it is really only $2000 more than the Patriot but it comes with a lot more feature. Also, there are not a lot of 08 Patriot around according to the dealers as they are selling like hot cakes.

Haven't driven either of these vehicles, but the Jeep's look much nicer than ugly Kia's, plus you're saving quite a bit of money on them.
