Hi everyone,
my boss just recently got a speeding ticket this morning. She said that if there's any incorrect information on the ticket, it's deemed as invalid.
The officer wrote down "Region of Mississauga" on the ticket, but shouldn't it say "Region of Peel"?
Anyone think this is a valid case? Your opinions would be greatly appreciated :cheesygri

The same actually happened on my ticket...for make and year of my car, he put Toyota & 08, but its actually a 99 model car...so that would actually be pretty cool if it could be thrown out. i'm not holding my breath though.

do a search. The year isn't the model of car, it's the date of licence expiry

The ticket can also be amended at trial if you do decide to take it to court. As long as the written description is close enough it is not a fatal flaw.
I once had a ticket that the officer quoted the wrong section of the HTA, but described the action i made, and originally was deemed fatal, but 2 weeks later prosecution appealed it and I ended up having to negotiate for a lesser fine.

Your boss is wrong. Minor errors will be amended by the court. In the case of your boss, that's a minor error and will not result in the ticket being dismissed.
