So I share my driveway with my neighbour, as I live in a townhome and our driveway is shared.

I come home last night, and it looks like there's a huge oil stain on my driveway! So I'm like WTF! My neighbour has oil stains all over his side, but now I see it on my side, and I know his son parked his car on my side and it leaked oil. So I'm fuming and go inside thinking that I shouldn't argue with my neighbour and just want to keep the peace. But the wife is yelling at me to take care of it, so when I go back out a couple of hours later the stain is gone. You can only see the spot when the driveway is wet.

What happened is, the neighbour son parked on my side and his car leaked oil, he tried to clean it up with a high pressure spray. However, you can still see the stain when the driveway is wet.

Can anyone suggest how I can inexpensively clean this up? I know I know, get the neighbour to do it! But, I think I yelled at the son enough yesterday, and he did his best to clean it up.

I was thinking of buying CLR GREASE MAGNET, anyone try this? or have other ideas?

Thanks In Advance....

Haven't tried grease magnet but you could try some bakingsoda and water with a stiff brush. Hose down after.

Oil destroys asphalt. I will not happen right away though. So, the quicker you remove oil, the better your driveway will do in the future. From my experience, there is no way to remove oil completely, it will stay there for years, unless it removed quickly.

1)Kitty Litter. Let it absorb.
then
2)Blow torch to burn it up.

You could also try some Coke.........

Here is the tip (I have never tried this):

Remove Oil Stains from the Driveway!: Fish from Santa Cruz, California writes; "I grew up in Australia and it is well known that the best way to remove oil stains from concrete driveways or garages is to pour on coke, let it soak then hose off - Viola!" Thanks Fish!
