Grease cleaner??

I recently moved into an apt and the wall around stove top has grease/oil drops on it. Any idea of a good cleaning solution to get rid of this?
Also whats a good cleaner for ceramic stove tops?

I use water and vinegar for almost everything in my house!!

My cooktop gets Cerama Bryte (easily found at Walmart/HD etc) and I use a window scraper for the hard to get off stains. Works quite well for me.
