Hrmm.. to tell you the truth I haven't seen too many at all in the GTA. I only know that there is one in Pickering since I live pretty close to it and one in Whitby beside the AMC. Other than that can't remember if I've seen anymore.

Wimpy's is pretty good. There's quite a few but none really in the GTA...closest if on Yonge somewhere above Steeles.
It's a 50s & 60s diner. Good food but kinda crowded because a lot of people go there.

By far one of the best breakfast places I've been to. There's one here in town at the corner of Bank & Laurier. Been there many many times. Used to work around the corner and had many breakfast "meetings" there. Also been to one in Old Montreal. Average price is around $10 but well worth it.

I cannot believe no one mentioned SIZZLING JAK's
on the queensway just east of the 427.
Used to be strictly a truck stop greasy spoon....24hr breakfast is pretty decent..
ask for chocolate chips with the pancakes...sweet ass sweet
priced reasonably if not cheap...

I know you're asking about GTA. But if you ever get a chance to visit Ottawa and looking for a good breakfast joint, Ada's on Bank St. South of Tommy and Lefebrve Sports store.
The place is small, seats about 20 people. Owners are so nice.

1.There's Cora's on Peter St. downtown south of Wellington. They are a chain from the east coast and they have many egg dishes as well as crepes, french toast and fruit bowls.
2. You can try Sunset Grill, there is one on Yonge St. S of Queen St., a few blocks, there is also one on Bloor in the Bloor W. Village (east of Runnymede). This is a more basic breakfast place with eggs, potatoes, and bacon/sausages.
3. For a more neighbourhood place you can go to Easy which is on Queen W. east of Roncesvalles. You can order breakfast all day and at dinner time and their most famous breakfast is Heuvos Divorciados which has 2 kinds of salsa and guacamole.
Most of these places charge $8-$10 for a breakfast with some kind of meat.

I was at Wimpy's in St. Catherines and couldn't finish my meal of pancakes and sausage because it was so poorly prepared. On the other hand, the Wimpy's in Guelph was A-1.
Flapjacks is great, but a bit of the beaten path for folks from T.O.
Denny's is so-so, Golden Griddle has gotten groady.
Cora's is good for selection and preparation, but a tad pricy.
Mars Diner and Future Bakery both big let downs for greasy, greasy eggs. Damn near criminal.
I don't mind the odd breakfast outing, but I'm with Sammy. A good, interesting breakfast is one of the easiest things to prepare. I find the whole business an enjoyable little ritual, with the focus on putting together something tasty as opposed to trying to blow my gut out my jammin' down as much food as I can.

I heard that location closed a couple of months ago. AFAIK, the one in Brampton is still open. It's on Queen St between Hwy 410 & 427. I'd also stay away from the ones in Niagara Falls. Cheapest item there was $14 and it didn't taste that great at all. The one in Brampton has regular prices and good food though.

I went to Denny's in Niagara Falls and man, did it taste disgusting. The price wasn't good, and neither was the food. I don't recommend it to anyone.
I do on the other hand recommend Markham Station. Very nice place...

Denny's isn't bad at all. I went to the one in Brampton tonight and it was good. The one in Niagara Falls does suck, just like most restaurants in NF do. Once you're out of Niagara Falls, their prices aren't bad either.

Breakfast is the easiest meal to make (to me), and you can really save a lot of money making it for yourself every morning. I've been to Denny's, Perkins, etc. before and there's nothing I eat from those places that I can't make myself.

I personally stick to Denny's. It's nothing extravagent, but you get quite a bit for your money (though not as much as you would in the States).
Tried Golden Griddle last week, and wasn't really impressed at all. As someone else said, it does seem, "yucky".
As for Markham Station personally, I don't know what is so appealing about it. I guess the $3.99 breakfast is decent, but other than that I really don't see what's so special about their food/prices.
And yes, any time you eat Denny's at Niagara, get ready to pay a premium (for what, I'm not exactly sure).
