Sorry you're a newbie and don't know anybody here, but a lot of us know each other and are interested in seeing the poll. If you don't know anyone on the list, then don't vote. How did seeing the poll 'mislead' your choice? If you couldn't see the poll, how would that help you decide anyway, if you don't know anyone? I doubt many people are influenced by seeing the poll, most who take the time to vote know who they want to vote for. Personally, I look at the poll in each of the categories daily...makes it interesting to see who's winning.
