OD in Regina has the Maddog 20x External DVD-RW with Lightscribe on clearance for $39.97. They had about nine units left as of this morn.

Have not tried it out yet, but it includes USB + Firewire and a nice black anodized aluminum enclosure.

Thanks, I grabbed one yesterday. Good to see there are RFDers in Regina.

OP, if you could provide the SKU that'd be much appreciated.

BTW, can you open up the ext. casing and check out the MFR ID? (i'm pretty sure this is just a rebadged drive)

The drive ia a Toshiba-Samsung SH-S182D a.k.a. TS-H652.

The only # on the receipt is 013803081091?

For what it's worth, I had a Mad Dog DVD drive installed in a Mad Dog external USB case. The power supply burnt out a couple of weeks ago during a thunderstorm (nothing else was damaged, but we did have a power failure).

Yesterday, I went looking for Mad Dog to see if the warranty applied. mdmm.com seems to be down and there are hints that the company has folded.

So: don't count on a warranty or support or even driver downloads.
