Sorry for starting a new thread instead of adding to Gursk's post (re: $25 off Rubbermaid Configurations coupon found here: http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=588243&highlight=rubbermaid )
Figured a new thread may pick up more attention.
Zellers in the Hamilton area has the #6 kit for $13.99 (half off their clearance price of $27.99)
So using the coupon above (thanks Gursk!) I just picked up a #6 kit for FREE. I purchased other Rubbermaid stuff (also at 50% off last clearance price i.e. baskets/pant organizers now at $6) and the nice cashier applied the whole $25 coupon to my purchase!
I couldn't find any #8 kits but, applying the same logic, my guess is this kit is now at $16 (half off the last price of $32, the price I paid last week in the KW area). I'll ask for a price adjustment on Wed and see how it goes. Maybe I can get it for free too.
Don't forget to use the HBC Rewards bonus coupon found here:
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=593733&highlight=hbc+rewards
But you gotta hurry if you want to use both coupons as they expire today. Zellers closes at 9pm tonight.

Still works for today but the coupon was originally posted a long time ago by Gursk. (thanks Gursk again)
I'm only posting now because Zellers is further slashing prices on clearance items this weekend, the Rubbermaid items included.
I picked some of these kits at 10% off last price just last week (good deal but not free) but they are now at 50% off last price which takes it below the coupon value.

Can a moderator edit the Title to say FREE TODAY only (coupon expires today)
And I don't know when the 50% off last clearance price for the Rubbermaid Configurations items expires. So this part of the equation may be on-going.

I was actually in the market for something to expand the number of shelves in my condo closet. I went to Zellers and found the last box they had, it was a #6 kit. Their price scanned in as $35, which was like 50% off regular price I think. I'm not sure if it should have been cheaper or not. I don't know if this was already 50% off the last clearance price, or if the cashier was supposed to take more off the cost of the thing at the register? There were no signs anywhere in the store, and no price marked on the box it was just stashed in between their other closet organizers and I nearly missed it.
I used the $25 coupon just fine, so I got it pretty damn cheap but it wasn't free.
Hmm, so I paid $34.99 before coupon for #6, should I go back later and get an adjustment on the price or what... like I said nothing in the store indicated that I should have been paying any less for it... how can I make a case?

It scanned in at $13.99 for me today in Hamilton. No manual override. Sticker did show various mark downs from $139.97 to $27.99
So I assumed it's half off lowest. The accessories were even cheaper. The basket was $5.99 but sticker was $44.99!
Maybe you can try to have it adjusted in Hamilton if you're in town? Or have your store call Hamilton to check pricing?
When I picked up the #8 kit in KW area last week, it scanned in at $32 (thanks to SVT6Speed's post). But I also found it strange that the #6 kit scanned in higher at $52.50 so I didn't bother with this kit.
No idea how you got the $35 for the #6 kit. Maybe the pricing is store dependent?
Sorry can't be of more help.
But I'm going to check the KW area on Wed when I'm up there to see if the pricing is any different.
Heading out now...I'll check another store in Hamilton today and post as soon as I can.

I picked up a #8. It scanned at $39.99 but I got them to give me an extra 30% off because the flyer said extra 30% off previously reduced storage. They claimed the price was already reduced but I pointed out that it was 50% off not 30% so the 30% should be an additional discount. They then claimed it was off the yellow ticket but none of the configurations stuff had yellow tickets. I ended up paying $1.47 plus tax after the coupon. Although not free, I can't complain but wonder why different Zellers stores are charging different prices. Thanks OP.

Looks like pricing varies in different regions.
Checked Hamilton Centre Mall. None left. But CSR checked using his RF handheld and the #6 kit came up as $27.99 reg price, on sale for $13.99
He checked other Hamilton stores....all have the same pricing. Upper James South showed they have 3 #6 kits left. Queenston 2 left. Mohawk none.
Burlington has it listed for $69.99 reg price but didn't show the sale price.
Couldn't have him check #8 kit as I didn't have the UPC code on me at time.
Suggest people to call.
UPC code for:
#6 is 071691238362
#8 is 071691238218

In Victoria, they seem to be restocking storage with brands other than rubbermaid. The only thing I found was the shoe racks at 14.xx

The first Zellers that I went to didn't carry any Rubbermaid, only other brands of closet organizers. These are older models which is why they are on clearance. You may have to try different locations.

Zellers at Metrotown has them but as per usual the cashiers make excuses not to give the 30% off or take the voucher.
I must say Zellers at Metrotown should be avoided/boycotted by all such poor customer service there (and some poor staffing), they don't even abide by SCOP!

yes, the Configuration kits are getting very hard to find. most stores are sold out.
I managed to pick up the following accessories for the two #6 kits I picked up:
sliding pant rods (x4) $6ea (Reg $60)
shoe shelf (x2) $3 ea (Reg $30)
shoe rods (x2) $2 ea (Reg $20)
tie and belt organizer (x2) $1.60ea, (Reg $23)
unbelievable clearance prices!!
Great deal. All in all I think it would have cost just over $700 + tax , and the clearance sale and coupons got it down to just under $70 for two pimped up kits! ;)
I am looking for a couple of sliding baskets and extra 4' shelves if any one finds them...
Where else can you buy the accessories?

At the Queenston store in Hamilton, there's at least 5 each of the baskets and the pant sliders left for $6 each and that's after I picked up a few each.
Unfortunately, I did not see any of the kits left even though the computer said they had 2 left. Maybe in the warehouse? Shoulda asked.

Yes. The closet kits consists of uprights on which you mount the various accessories such as the baskets, pant sliders, shoe racks.

You definitely need the kits. I just looked at the boxes for the basket, the pant slider and the shoe shelf. They all state they have "brackets" but no mention of the "uprights"
In the pictures on the boxes, the uprights shown are the 2 vertical bars (about 0.5" wide) with 2 rows of slits (where the brackets are inserted)
If you still need kits for your accessories, Cdn Tire sells them but pricey #6 for $130, #8 for $170.
Do wait for a sale or wait until they clear them out. (seems like the white coloured kits are being phased out. First RCSS and Walmart, now Zellers)
Also, it's possible Rubbermaid will come out with another coupon/promotion. Check the other forum.
May be worthwhile picking up the dirt cheap accessories now (seems to be more available than the kits) and pick up the kits at Cdn Tire later.
Good luck. I'll post if I find more kits.

I couldn't find any #8 kits but, applying the same logic, my guess is this kit is now at $16 (half off the last price of $32, the price I paid last week in the KW area). I'll ask for a price adjustment on Wed and see how it goes. Maybe I can get it for free too.
The Zellers in the KW area do have the #8 kit for $16!
They price adjusted the 2 kits and the accessories I bought last week.
So essentially I paid next to nothing for all of them! :)
This store had none left unfortunately. The 2 #6 kits I left behind last week are also gone as well as many of the accessories.
Hmm, so I paid $34.99 before coupon for #6, should I go back later and get an adjustment on the price or what... like I said nothing in the store indicated that I should have been paying any less for it... how can I make a case?
I took the shelf tag and the #6 now scanned at $34.99 too in the KW area  Who knows why this kit is priced more than the #8.
So, as far as I know, only in Hamilton will you see #6 @ $13.99. If you're ever in this area, ask for the price adjustment. Worked for me. I think you've got 30 days.

If anyone sees any of the sliding baskets then please PM me.
Perhaps we can work out some arrangement for purchasing them for me and then shipping or a local pick-up . I will gladly pay the shipping and even add a little extra for your efforts. :)
If possible, I would like to get 4 -5 baskets for the two #6 kits I picked up.
I live in Barrie and the local Zellers, (or Orillia and Alliston), don't have any left.
A little extra $$ for your efforts and some shipping might be worth it for me. Let me know.

I'll see if there's any left in Hamilton. I left behind 5+ baskets at one store last Monday. I'll be travelling by this store, maybe this Fri at the earliest.
But these baskets come in fair size boxes (but lightweight). No idea how to and how much it'll cost to ship 4-5 of these?!? UPS? Canada Post? Do I wrap them in paper?
I'll do it at cost. No markup wanted. I'm just glad that you can benefit as I have from RFD and Zellers.
But I'm just in the dark about the shipping aspect. Can you or anyone advise?

I suspect that you would pay alot to ship these as they are rather bulky especially for 4 - 5 of them. I think it be cheaper to call around to other Zellers stores further out and use that money for gas. The Zellers stores that I went to didn't have the prices marked on these so apart from those of us here that bought the kits on sale, I don't think there will be a huge demand for them. Maybe you should get a quote on shipping before someone goes out and buys them for you. I think you should be able to get at least 4 at the store I PMed you about and I think it would be cheaper for you to drive there than have them shipped. I haven't installed mine yet as I have wall repairs to do and painting after removing the shelf that was in my closet but I may be going back to that location for some accessories. I want to install the kit first to see what I want to add to it. If I am back there, I will let you know what is available.

I thought the same thing too. But at $6 each, I wouldn't wait too long. Cdn Tire still sells the baskets at $60 ea and the kits at >$100. Walmart, RCSS used to sell these white kits too. So I'm sure there are people out there with these kits installed wanting to pick up a few extra accessories.

Check out the Zellers Work Bench thread. There was a guy who simply had his purchase price adjusted simply by having his home Zellers in Ottawa call a Brampton store to verify their lower price for the same item. A simple PHONE CALL worked for him!
So anyone with a:
#8 kit, call any KW store, have your purchase adjusted to $16
#6 kit, call any Hamilton store, adjust to $14
Not only will you then get these $140-$150 kits for free, you'll actually make a tidy little profit, if you had used the $25 off coupon

Hi,
I went on the Rubbermaid Closet Organizer website to try to design a possible configuration. For those who bought the kits, are all your closets at least 3' 6" in depth. Most older homes do not have walk-in closets, unless there was renovation done. Are all of you placing these kits in your closets or using them elsewhere?

Never knew the DEPTH of a closet would cause an issue?
I mean, aren't non-walk-in closets built "standard" depth so that one can hang their clothes?
I've installed 2 kits in my walk-in. Haven't installed the other kits in my other bedrooms' standard closets but can't imagine the depth would cause a problem.

Rona Depot has the "deluxe 8" for $239.XX while Canadian Tire has the "regular 8" for $169.XX.

The Deluxe version is titanium and has more shelving.
There's also a "Classique" #8 titanium version. I purchased 2 of these kits 2 yrs ago and absolutely love them. (Home Depot currently sells these kits for $199.99)
Personally, I like the titanium look better than the regular white kits I picked up from Zellers. But can't complain since I got them for free and they're going into the kid's and spare bedrooms.
I suspect Rubbermaid may be discontinuing the white as Zellers, Walmart, RCSS cleared them out....wait for Cdn Tire to do the same!
BTW, Zellers still has plenty of the white accessories at dirt cheap prices, at least around my area (southern Ont)

for those who got the Kits and need the extension bars to extend the 4ft bars, Walmart has the 24" extension bars on clearance for $6 each.
They also have some of the accessories on clearance but are still expensive...

I picked up a few of those extensions as Zellers were out.
But none of my Walmarts had the kits, so strange why they won't drastically slash prices on the accessories like Zellers did, just to clear the inventory. I think the basket and pant sliders were still ~$40
BTW, many baskets and pant organizers left for $6 in the Hamilton area.

ya, I wish Walmart would lower the baskets too as our local store 4 of them but at $40 each...
I also found that RONA sells both the 24 and 48" Fast Trac wall upright bars for $9.95 ea (yes, same price!!) in both the white and titanium colours.
They also have all the separate hardware pieces, and those unique wall anchors with screws in packs of 8 for $3.

Thanks for the info. This is good to know as I haven't found any local retailer that sells parts for the Configurations line.
Went to Rona looking to buy the white brackets for the shelves. (bought the shoe shelves from Zellers for $3 but don't like the way it's angled)
Looks like they only carry parts for the Configurations titanium line. The white parts I saw there were for a different Rubbermaid line.
Did you see any white Configurations parts?

It's actually 071691238355 on both the receipt and the box.

That's the UPS code I have on my receipt and it didn't seem to work for them when I was calling around looking for more baskets. Perhaps it's out of their system now...
If any one sees the baskets anywhere please PM me and let me know!! My Zellers store may ask the other store to transfer the baskets to them if the other store agrees to it.

What if you just bought the titanium and spray painted them white.
I was at Lowes in Buffalo last week and they have various Rubbermaid components in white but they were from the HomeFree series although they looked the same. The brochure I picked up says they are compatible with the Rubbermaid FastTrack closet systems. I had picked up the upright extension for $7.xx but ended up putting it back because I wasn't sure I needed it. Maybe a call or email to Rubbermaid can clear up whether they are compatible.

I finally installed my configurations and it was a pain. First off, it is hard to get the horizontal rail installed, levelled. An extra set off hands would be helpful to hold the level. This can be difficult depending on your closet. I don't have a walkin and have large sliding doors that are in the way. I also found that the screws were too long. It may just be the studs in my walls but I couldn't get them all the way in and had to use shorter screws. I got one screw stuck and stripped and a drill bit stuck in the wall. Finally, I gave up and had my father come over and finish it. He struggled to. The wall anchors worked really well so you may do better with those instead. Once I got everything installed and configured, I realized that clothes hanging rod is out much further than the old one. This means that it is really difficult for me to see what is hanging in the middle of the closet because of the large closet doors. I have a 6 foot closet with two 3 feet wide, floor to ceiling closet doors. I may now have to remove and replace the closet doors. My closet is 24.5 inches deep. This is something to consider for those of you who have tradtional closets with sliding doors. For $1.47, I can't complain but I don't think I'd be happy if I had paid full price.

Interesting to hear. I've installed 2 kits in my walk-in on my own with no issues but I haven't yet installed the kits in my other non-walk-in closets. Fortunately, all my other closets have swing-out double doors and not sliders. But was it possible to remove the sliding doors before installing?
In my walk-in, I drew a light level line in pencil, marked the hole locations and drilled pilot holes first. I think that may help.
Once I got everything installed and configured, I realized that clothes hanging rod is out much further than the old one.
Now I understand why one person previously questioned the depth of a closet.

Canadian Tire has all the Configurations kits and components (I think) starting Saturday July 26th for 30% off. The 4-8 ' kit originally $170 will be on sale for $119. Check the CT July 25 Flyer post in Hot Deals forum.

I installed two kits (his & hers) in our walk-in closet. I did my side first and made a couple of mistakes (easliy fixed) and found it a bit confusing at first following the directions, but then it all went well. Her side was a piece of cake... whatever you do, use those long plastic spacers to set the wall brackets exactly the right space apart or else the accessory stuff won't fit right (ie- sliding baskets)!!

I did that but screwed up with the line. Also I realized that if I used that line as a guide it was too high. Stupid me forgot that I bought a laser level on sale several months back that I have never used. Another problem is also that my floor slopes in the bedroom and it was visually throwing me off. But I just found another set of hands would have been useful to hold the horizontal bar while getting the first screws in.

Ah funny....exact same experience. His and her kits and her side was a piece of cake! And you're absolutely right, I was off by millimetres on the plastic spacer separating the uprights and my pant sliders did not fit!
Fortunately I did not drill in the uprights so they were easily moved. (I just hung them from the horizontal bar and it still holds strong!)

I'd love to get a titanium kit, but I've never seen it on sale at HD (not that I ever looked before this thread). If you can confirm that HD has these sets on special from time to time for at least 25% off, I'd consider waiting. Right now as it stands it's either $200 at HD or $120 at CT. And besides I already picked up 2 baskets at Zellers for $6 a pop.

Having those 2 white baskets saved you quite a bit of money as a start.
So unless you like to mix the white baskets with a titanium kit, get the white kits at CT. White is nice but titanium/nickel brushed/stainless steel seems to be the trend.
From time to time, the titanium kits are on sale at HD and Home Hardware. I think I've seen it at 20-25% off or with an in-store rebate. Not sure of Rona.
I'll look up what I paid over a year ago and post...if I can find the receipt.
Also, Rubbermaid does offer coupons or MIRs at least once a year it seems. And as you know, you can stack these on top of sales or clearances.

Sorry I just picked up the last basket the other day at Trinity Common in Brampton. At the time, I didn't realize that you were still looking as I had mentioned that they had some there previously. I was surprised to find it there after all this time. Since I finally put up my organizer, I figured I could squeeze in one more basket. I have to shift some stuff so I haven't installed it but if I end up not using it, I will let you know. I haven't seen any more in Brampton but will let you know if I come across any.
FYI if anyone is looking for the pant racks or the small shoe rods, they had about 6 of the pants and 4 of the shoe rods at Trinity Common Zellers (410 & Bovaird in Brampton).

It is a pain to work with the small opening and having to shift the doors to work on the other side. But I suspect it would be more trouble to remove these doors. There are 96" h x 36 " w, not your standard doors.

No, I haven't had time to make it over there yet. I may just end up paying to get it repaired elsewhere since the wait for an oil change at Costco can be 2.5 hours. That's why I started going to Green & Ross. So far the tire is not leaking and I haven't been driving it much.

Speaking of Costco, I did see the titanium kits there a while back. But, you know Costco, they always carry different versions of a product. Don't remember what the kit was called but these kits looked like "ULTRA" Deluxe...they had many shelves and perhaps accessories.

CT has the Configurations and accessories on 30% off this week. Not the Zellers deal but still a deal I guess.
We are really sold on these closet organizers now and wanted to do both our kids closets. I ended up going to HomeDepot to get an additional 10% off two more #6 Kits with the price match +10% guarentee they offer, so that equalled 40% off. Then when I got home and compared the CT Config kits to the HD kits I realized the HD kits were "Classiques #6" which are an upgrade to the basic #6 kits (Classique having 12' of Shelving & 10' of hanging vs 10' & 8' respectively). Nice!! HD was confused as to why their regular prices were so much more that CT ($180 vs $130) for the same item but they honoured the lower price anyways. Same savings on the sliding baskets too - got 3 them, and an extra shelving kit.
And to top it off, I won a $150 GC from HomeDepot back in March, so factor in the 40% less $150 GC, the total bill came to just under $140 for everything. The same deal at Zellers would have been about $90...

Crap! You did a price match on 2 different products! Lucky you!. I bought and installed my "8" from CT for $119 on Saturday. I never thought about trying to do a price match at HD. Now that I think about it, the ad in the CT flyer is pretty vague - no mention of "Classique", just "Configurations" - so unless the clerk knows his/her Rubbermaid, it should have been an easy PM. Better deal - more shelving and titanium! Although, I wonder how my white baskets would have looked with the titanium kit.

I'd doubt HD would PM the CT flyer because there's no way to compare item for item...not detailed enough.
But the CT website only states "Rubbermaid Configurations 3-6 ft or 4-8 ft" And when printed in black/white, it's tough for HD to know the difference.
You're right, easy to get away with a PM...not that we're recommending people to try this ;) . Mepoor is very lucky. Seems he wasn't even aware they are 2 totally different kits! Good for him he got the PM!
Although, I wonder how my white baskets would have looked with the titanium kit.

I think HD honored the PM because I had at first bought the stuff at CT earlier that day without thinking about pm'ing HD, but later in the day I was at a HD and realized they sold the Configuration kits too. I happened to have the CT flyer in the vehicle and the CT receipt in my wallet with the sale prices. So I was armed and dangerous to try for a PM! The HP CS rep at the counter was a little cautious at first because of the price differences and went in the back to "check something out" - likely the CT website - and returned with a "No problem, we'll do it". Sweet!
And no, I won't be switching out the white kits in our walk-in closet!! The kids can have the titanium!!
2nd BTW - I don't mount the top support rail at 87" from the floor anymore (as per the instructions) because when you add the 25" extension uprights to the bottom of the 48" uprights you are still left with 14" of dead space off the floor, and which is to high for a bottom accessory to be (just trying to maximize the space!). Now I mount the top support rail at about 79" off the floor, which gets the bottom of a sliding basket about 3" off the floor instead of 11". And this allows for a nice 24" space at the top of the uprights for two shelves (one 11" high shelf above the hanging rod 12" shelf). (my height measurements may be off an inch or two!)
As much as these kits are time consuming to install, once you get the hang of it (pardon the pun ;-)) the process is pretty straight forward. And it's actually kind of fun playing with the various layout arrangments! (I realize just how bad that must sound but I don't get much anymore!!)
just another great deal at RFD!

The #8 Rubbermaid Configurations Classique Titanium Kit sells for $199. So you're $1 short of getting $75 in a GC back! Net $125 for the titanium kit is the cheapest I've ever seen.

FYI - some Walmarts have further reduced prices on the shoe shelves. Picked up 2 kits for $10 each. I like these kits just for the shelves...

I actually PM'ed 4 titanium baskets on Aug. 1 (HD allowed it since they were the same regular price). And I did a refund/repurchase yesterday asking for a "change in payment method" from CC to gift card. Said I didn't have the GC with me at the time.
I'll post to see if I'm lucky enough to get a rebate. I'm planning to buy some of the Rubbermaid FastTrack items on top of this so I'm in the $75-$100 rebate range.
As for the shoe shelves, how are you attaching the shelves without the regular "level" brackets (as opposed to the "sloped" ones it came with)?
Also, some Zellers still have the shoe shelves at $3.60 (higher than the $3 I paid??). Not much of anything else left. Even the $6 pant sliders are gone. (Maybe people bought these just for the regular brackets to use with the shoe shelves! That's an idea)
Anyone know of any Walmart/Zellers in KW, Hamilton, GTA that still have the white upright extensions? Wouldn't mind picking up a few more as extras for future expansion.

I actually love my 2 titanium pant sliders. I used to hang my pressed pants using coat hangers. These sliders make it so much easier to hang and looks a lot better!
As for space, my closet kit on my side of the walk-in has MUCH more available space than my wife's!! :D ...but she's slowly invading my side :(

hey guys, as Kiaal said, there is no upright bars in the baskets and shoe racks packages. Any chance any of you don't need any kit? i can exchange with baskets and shoe racks. btw, i'm in kw tricity region and can meet in GTA too. thx.

If you had to purchase a kit, I think Cdn Tire is the only retailer carrying these white kits as regular stock items. They just had them on sale for 30% off.
If I can recall:
#6 kit: $90 (reg $130)
#8 kit: $119 (reg $170)
That's your best bet (or wait until they clear them out too!)
Or buy the titanium kits at HD with their tiered MIR. I think I paid $175 each for the #8 kits 2 yrs ago. With this rebate you can get the #8 kit for $125. Titanium is classier looking IMHO. (But still can't beat the Zellers deal!)

yeah, and that 30% off just ended, isn't it? i think i wanna wait for the white ones to clear out at CT, thx a lot op: kiaal, my basement is now full of baskets and shoe racks. i actually paid about $40 for part of them, cuz on that June 30th, i forgot to segment my purchase, instead just used one coupon for the purchase. but still a great deal comparing to those ct and hd deals.
