long story short, i had to replace my ancient dell inspirion 4150's cpu fan. got one off ebay, and it was nearly identical to the one it originally came with, minus the fact that the power cable was too short to reach the motherboard.
i've searched online for a possible extender, but i don't really know what exactly to search for. i know that these cable extensions exist for the regular atx fans, so some miniature laptop extenders should exist as well.
