For the MacHeads out there.
I am looking for a decently priced Mac for my girls. I found several eMacs (G4) and iMacs (G4) at the same price point.
Question
If both have the same specs.. 1Ghz - 1.25 Ghz .. same ram... same combo drive... etc.. which one is better?
I do like the lampshade one(iMac), but I think the eMac came after .. and is possible that it has a "refreshed" cpu.
Anyway, I appreciate any info.

What do you consider 'reasonably priced'? I can't imagine a 1Ghz eMac costing any more than $200...
As far as which is better, IIRC correctly the iMac is identical but has the LCD display.

Pretty much spot on. Get an LCD iMac for sure, if it's the same price as the eMac.

Honestly I'd recommend paying a little more for a used intel Mac Mini, if you want a better Mac experience.

I feel like such a doofus.... you are totally right. The LCD of the iMac is beautiful. Is running OS X (10.4)
I am a happy camper.. :D

Can't agree more. Wish I had one! :) an eMac should be HALF the price.

It's for his kids.... safer internet, word processing, etc.
Won't keep 'em safe from porn or predators.... only parental supervision can do that.
