Planning to vacation in Europe next month July 08 for 14 days.

The plan is London, Paris, Italy. This is my first time, 2 ppl travelling total from Toronto.

Can anyone provide advice to me on where to stay/fly/travel/pack etc. that could be helpful towards planning my trip?

Thanks

Firstly, it is awful late to take advantage of any specials. It is high season and the tourist areas are very booked.
Secondly how long in each place? It makes a difference.
Thirdly, try www.tripadvisor.ca and go to the pages for each of the places you have chosen. Go to the forums, check the sticky's for very current and useful information.
Lastly, trying to find hotels at this time of year will be difficult. I used www.wotif.com and found some good deals foir me and my trips. You are within the time frames of the site so it may work for you.

Does anyone else feel like we need a "Europe Trip Sticky"?

Every couple of days someone is going to europe and has no idea where to start. And the same answers are ALWAYS produced.

Exactly. Is it so hard to buy some guide books first? One can even read it for free in Chapters or borrow it from a local library.

I am getting tired of replying to the same threads every time, my god, how many Paris/London threads do we need?

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH FIRST. ASK QUESTIONS LATER.

Not only the same answers...its the same people! I've just stopped offering help to the common areas, its becoming ridiculous with no one using the search function.

There are dozens of europe bound threads in the travel section. If you use the search button I am sure you will be able to find all your answers to all your questions. And if not. Like a previous poster recommended, go buy a Europe travel book (which I have one for sale) or just read it at the book store.

No offense youngn, but did you read the responses? You were referred to a thread. Did you even look at it?
You were also offed advice to search this forum because there are lots of threads and many links and answers.
You are just asking to be criticized.:)

Thx for the referrals.

I've got to admit that I am a n00b to forums.
I'm sorry Pete, if you are bothered by my inquiry, you are free to ignore my post.

However I assumed that the purpose of these forums was to help individuals seek advice, whether it's simple Q n A or referrals to what it being.

kind regards

Hi there.
First off, as a Brit myself id be happy to help you plan everything on the UK side of things.

Air Transat is amazing.
I myself am flying London-toronto return for $680 including all taxes. (June 28th to toronto, July 18th back)
if you can get out in June do it, cause the prices shoot up when schools out.
trust me, you wont beat those price at Air Transat.

getting to Paris, nothing quite beats eurostar.
yes you pay $200 for a return journey.
but no aiport queues, no getting TO the airport, no tight seat, no fuss.
Just Straight from London City centre to Paris city centre in 2 hours, with food, room to walk, great views, its an experience in itself.

if you wanna budget check out Ryanair.com
Cheap flights from around $40 return per person, yes , that cheap

Hotels in both London and Paris?
id try Ibis

Ibis has hotels all over europe, about 10 in london and around 50 in Paris, theyre great, with 24/7 service, clean, simple, and cost almost $100 a night for a twin room everywhere - that is cheap in European standards.
Ibis at Stonebridge Park in London
and the Ibis at Republique are my favourites.

From paris you can easily get to Italy, Switzerland, germany, all on Eurocity or TGV services. TGV are fast but expensive.

Whats with the Italy obsession really?
trying to see 3 countries in 14 days is really ashame.
How about other places in the UK like Scotland? Liverpool? Warwick Castle? Stratford? All of them must see's

in France, why not take a train down to Marseilles or Monaco?
4 hours on TGV and a different world from Paris down there on the Mediterranian

Switzerland is UNDER RATED
Geneva and Bern are lovely.

Basel and Zurich are dull in my opinion but who am i to judge.

If you go to Switzerland, Take trains into the Alps, Brig and CHur are amazing.

www.airtransat.com
www.ryanair.com

all those will help.
