TC2=?

Liked the Bigs demo on the 360, so I might pick it up on the Wii if I could get it used for $5.

When I went yesterday to get RE: Umbrella Chronicles and GH3, I asked the sales clerk about this whole sale and she said new stuff is being added on a daily basis (I think we all know that). She mentioned that the sale will go on probably until June 20 too.

RE The Umbrella Chronicles still on $9.89. I got the second last copy at Shopper's World Danforth/Victoria.

Guy there said new items added daily and ending June 21.
The sales is a yearly event or something.

Some do, some don't - because the price down came from the computer system. This is generated through the head quarter computer system back to the store. Though I do know a few people who knew about the RE: UC Price down ahead of time.

Is Nights any good?

So far, I've picked up TC:NB and RE:UC from EB's sale. They went to the trouble/cost of having this promotion, so I'd rather give them my business than go to FS/BB. Also, I'd rather avoid the hassle of PMing. :)

I normally check for game reviews and ratings at www.metacritic.com

Go to the games section and look up the games under Wii. I know that Bigs scored 66. I tend to stay away from games that score under 75.

Here's the review: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/bigs

Does EB Typically have a "deal of the day" type thing? If so, where can you find out what the deal is?

P.S. Has anyone else noticed how snotty/rude the customer service is for EB Games at Eaton Centre? I mean my god, the employees act so arrogant there.

I noticed that too, but it's kind of pointless to get as they are making next year's game...build from the ground up too (they are scrapping the current engine)!!! I'm expecting good things for 2K Sports hockey as I'm tired of playing EA style hockey.

I think they knew about it in advance, but not the specifics. The daily deals come with their morning printouts daily, so they don't know specifics about which deals are coming up; I saw one of their dailys yesterday myself.

i think all stores are supposed to use the red stickers to indicate the sale, ... perhaps those stores that ran out of red tags they had to switch to using white...

Nope, no free internet access. What happens is that when the CSR/manager boots up in the am, it'll connect via dial-up modem to head office and download the new prices, memos, etc.

Or it's from the dial-up connection from the night before, can't remember specifically. At least that's how it USED to work (used to work there).

Hmm, maybe they changed it....we used to get all memos, list of price changes, promotions, etc with the morning report. The only thing that the computers would dial out for at night was to upload sales data.

i dunno about now, but before when they had GOTD/W, i've often asked and some of the nicer CSRs would check in their binder for me...

if they're really not allowed to disclose the info, well in the past how would it be possible for some RFDers to post threads in advance and indicate what the upcoming GOTD/W deals are? ;)

whats the tiv for TC2 now?

Trauma Center: New Blood is 13$ as of today. I went to get a refund on one copy since my friend didn't want it in the end. Since they told me the tiv was 13$ for that game, I thought it was better to just trade it in.

edit: oh and I saw Metroid Prime for the gamecube at 9.99$ used and Odama at 14.99$ used at the EB in Les Cathedrales Downtown... No idea if it's a good deal or not but thought it'll be nice to share it anyway. Too many EB threads, haha.

I was in EB yesterday to pickup a few things.

There was definitely an EB memo just behind the counter from head office or whatever. I know it was email because it was displaying the header and you could see all of that data. So there is definitely internet access at this store :)

Let's be honest, a company that doesn't do business using email as a tool isn't a competitor.

Pretty sure they still don't actually. Refer to my previous post, they use a dialup connection to receive memos and whatnoght from head office with everything else, that may be what you saw. For cryin' out loud, I believe they still use a dialup connection for their debit transactions. Unless a current employee steps forward and says otherwise, I really doubt they've overhauled the entire company since I last worked there.

There are plenty of businesses that don't have internet in that conventional sense, and believe me, if EB gave all locations free surfing capabilites, their productivity would plummet through the floorboards....

they probably just did not re-tag them with the updated prices.

It was email shot out of a laser printer. I even was able to scan the IP number it broadcast from along with the data on it, because it was that close to the service area. It was definitely email brother, it had the store name as an addressee, subject line yadda yadda...

Oh well I wasn't really looking to argue this it's silly I just thought I'd share what I saw.
