Take your best shot with the super-slim Cyber-shot® DSC-W35. It's big on features, yet small enough to carry in your pocket. This ultra-compact camera is doubly effective at reducing blur in your photos. The DSC-W35 comes equipped with a precision Carl Zeiss® 3X optical zoom lens, high ISO 1000 sensitivity for low-light shooting, and Stamina® battery power for up to 380 shots. Picture Motion Browser Version 2.0 software and USB driver both also included.

"Bottom line - Sony has put together yet another awesome "W" series model. The Cyber-shot DSC-W35 is an affordable "ultra-compact" that offers performance and features that rival more expensive 7-megapixel digicams. That said, the W35 offers and outstanding "Bang for your Buck" with a very reasonable street price of only US$179 or less. "Steves Digicams says.

nice find OP. myself personally, I would consider this warm at best. just because we've seen some much better cameras on sale for a bit less or slightly more the past few months.
myself, I was able to get that compact sony H3 for $199, and it's a 10x optical zoom, still very compact and not much larger than my W30.
if the w35 had image stabilization, then I would consider it hot, but it lacks that. for me, with unsteady hands, that's a pretty handy feature. :D
if not in a hurry, I would recommend waiting it out as we always see some of the prior model year cameras on sale for the sub-$200 range. (i.e. the sony T series camera for $99.97 few months back at Staples, or the Canon 6x zoom for $180 on Dell couple months back).

Steve's always has a positive review for any camera... :)
Here's another "conclusion" to a review (http://www.digitalcamerareview.com/default.asp?newsID=3059) from just over a year ago:
I reviewed the Sony W70 a while ago and was impressed with that camera. The W35 is one of the models in the latest generation of W cameras from Sony and I remain impressed. To begin with, the camera is compact and stylish. Then, when you get around to taking pictures (this is a camera, after all), it performs well, with detailed, colorful shots. Color saturation may be too high for some, but would make many people perfectly happy. The camera also operates quickly, with minimal shutter lag, fast shot to shot times and quick focus times. Battery life is excellent. Overall, this is a good choice for a compact point and shoot camera for someone who likes Sony cameras, wants quick operation, and wants something above the entry level S models but similar in price.

Chead98, may I ask where you purchased your camera from? That seems like an excellent price for it.

Sony DSC-W55 was $99.99 in the last SDM sale. W55 is better than W35. The W35 has a 2" LCD and the W55 has a 2.5" LCD. Also the W35 LCD has 85,000 pixels and the W55 LCD has 115,000 pixels.

There was one at Burnaby Marine Way store last week with extra 50% off, i.e. $65. But it is gone now.
