Car rental in the California with no extra charge for age 21-24 drivers?

Hi everyone,

Planning to do a half road trip to LA and San Fran in late July for 7-8 days. I will be needing a car for most of the trip but since we are 22 and 23 we will get hit by the additional age charge by most car rental companies. Are there any coupons or car rental places out there that won't charge this? I'm ok with getting charged normal rates but the additional $25/day just because we are a bit younger is ridiculous to me.

i'm actually looking for the same thing. will be down in san fran at the end of the month. would some companies be more likely to waive the underage fee if you've got your own insurance?

worst part is i'm 2 months shy of 25. :(

Enterprise's fee is $10 per day but the Beta Gamma Sigma code (if still available) got it waived for me.

IIRC Fox Rental Cars do not charge this fee.

they are targeting european customers but they offer all inclusive rates that include underage surcharge and all insurance, taxes.

i used them when iw as underage or sometimes even for oneway rentals.

I ended up booking with national.

I called Budget regarding the costco coupon code and they said it wasn't valid for the San Fran airport location. It says on the costco brochure that its only select locations....

i hope you atleast find out what that national code is intended for and have contingency plan when they ask for ID at rental counter to verify that you are indeed entitled to use that code.
