I'm looking for a cheap one day cruise to Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale in July.
Anyone have experience with this and which is the best cruiseline to look for something like this?

There is no way you can reach Bahamas and back in one day.
For the big cruise ships, it takes at least 4 hours to load the boat with people, supplies/luggage and another 4 hours to unload.
Your shortest cruise to the Bahamas is ~3 days.

Do you know this for a fact? Or you're just guessing?

There are probably some private charters. Use Google and type in "one day trips to the Bahamas".

2 day cruises. Small ship. Can't personally comment on the quality. Saw them on Travelzoo.

I was just on a Carnival Cruise and we disembarked Miami at 4pm and didn't reach the Bahamas until 7am the next morning.

Not true. It can be done in about 30 hours. Leave on the afternoon of a Friday, be there by sunrise in the morning. Leave late that night and be back Sunday morning.
Look up Imperial Majesty cruises. They do these mini cruises to Bahamas all the time. The ships are small and old though.

You are asking on a bargain hunting community forum, like others have said, try searching out this info for yourself. I was able to find this in an instant http://www.onedaycruise.com/

I actually saw that website before posting on here, thanks. So I am aware there are one day cruises available.
What I'd like to find out from RFD members is if they have gone one one of these cruises, which site they went thru for the cheapest prices for the one day cruise.
I know other RFD members are always searching for the cheapest prices for their travel as well.

Most of that time they're just basically floating far enough off-shore to allow them to open the casino. The straight-line distance from Miami to Nassau is about 300 kilometres, or about 161 nautical miles. At a speed of about 21 knots, that would make sailing time about 7.5 hours.
