Going down to Seattle for a weekend... need suggestions on things to do... Will be staying in Bellevue.

Activities to go, where to shop, where to eat more or less everything :)

Pretty much first time going to Seattle for anything other than passing through so assistance would be nice :)

Don't know if they still offer it but check to see if Boeing is still offering tours of their plant in Everett (I think it's called). I did it back in '92 and it was awesome. Check their website.

why stay in Bellevue?

anyway, the pike street market is neat, the aquarium is neat (just below the market)

The mall in downtown Bellevue has some good stores

Shopping

-Chelsea Premium outlets (exit 202 off the I5): its a bit north but its worth every penny. great deals on clothing
-Bellevue square: just a regular mall. nice atmosphere though.

Food
-Maggiano's Little Italy: Right next to bellevue square. Italian food in MASSIVE proportions - highly recommended. Usually need a reservation for dinner.
-starbucks' flagship store: if you're into this kinda stuff, its where the chain originated. downtown seattle

Attractions
-Space needle: might be worth it if you're into the sights
-downtown seattle: check out the harbor. there's a shopping district and lots of good food near the harbor

- i don't usually go to the seattle are for anything other than shopping...

You gotta hit Pike Place Market. Make sure that you go to the Flying Fish Factory while you're at the market. It is awesome...but don't go too late in the day...the people working there put on a good show for the customers

While you're down there, check out the first Starbucks ever, in Pike Place

Lots of good eating and shopping in Seattle too.

I also mainly go to the Seattle area for shopping but we've also been to many of the touristy places as well.

Shopping:

Seattle Premium Outlets: exit 200, it will be on your right hand side going south on the I-5. You can't miss it as there is also a Walmart, Home Depot, and Casino on the same side. Maybe go here first before hitting Seattle.

In downtown Seattle, check out Ross and Nordstrom Rack for discounts

For more upscale offerings: Pacific Place, Nordstrom, Westlake Center, etc. They are all in the same general area on Pine St

Down by the water is the Pike Place Market, Aquarium, and Ferry dock.

Uwajimaya is located in the International district (chinatown) and is sort of like T&T. They also have a food fair and bookstore.

Eating:

There are just too many places to recommend wthout knowing what you like to eat or your budget. The Eagles Buffet at the Tulalip casino wasn't bad. There is also Todai, an all you can eat japanese buffet in Redmond. Dick's Drive in is an old burger joint that is pretty popular as well. Ruth's Chris steakhouse is donwtown and so is The Cheesecake Factory (next to the convention center). For late night, try Beth's in north Seattle. 5 Spot was good as well but had really crappy service.

Touristy:

Space Needle/Pacific Science Center
EMP (experience music project)
monorail- ride if from the space needle area to westlake center
pike place market
boeing plant tour (everett, SR 526 exit off I-5 exit 189?)
Woodland Park Zoo
Museum of Flight (used to be free on 1st Thurs evening of the month)
Underground Seattle Tour - very dusty
Ride the Ducks- ride in an amphibious WWII vehicle

Thanks for the great suggestions! keep em coming!!
why stay in Bellevue?

the reason for Bellevue is that staying in the hotel in Seattle was $297 vs Bellevue which is $97.

where would be a good place for some night life as well as a "fancier" meal something around 20-30 dollar entrees would be the price range...
