Ok guys, I'm gonna go visit friends in Austin TX, and I'm from Toronto. Travelocity gave me a price quote of a flight from NYC to Austin around 700 USD which also includes 2 nights at a hotel. A direct flight would run me double that.
So the question is, if I enter the US into buffalo and board my plane there. Do I need any special visa considerations or do i simply show them my passport and bam i'm gone?

If you are not an American, why even bother trying to get around the passport requirements? You would feel pretty stupid if an airport official called you out and you did not have the proper papers. Costs a lot to rent a car and drive home.

what passport requirements is he getting around?
Once your in the US no passport is required. A canadian passport is a great piece of ID in US airports but not required. I fly US to US flights quite a bit, I use my passport as ID but thats becuase I happen to have it.
Unless your not traveling on a Canadian passport where you would need a visa theres nothing special about what your planning.

what i'm trying to say is. Do i need special documentation BEYOND A PASSPORT to board a flight in buffalo ie any other entry document? Or is my canadian passport sufficient.

All you need to board a plane for a domestic flight in the US is a piece a photo id. You do not need a passport unless you are flying from Canada to the US.

Your Canadian Passport is sufficient.
While others have stated that you only truly need a photo ID for flying domestic in the US, I still take my passport. It's the single best travel document you have.

Before the OP responded again, his question was asking about visa requirements as well, "Do I need any special visa considerations or do i simply show them my passport and bam i'm gone?". This leads you to think that perhaps there was no Canadian passport in their possession. The fact that they have one, it all becomes moot.
Since they did confirm they are Canadian in the post after yours, my response would have been different except for the part of what may happen of an anal US airport security weenie wants to make a name for themselves.
