First, I'm looking at the CSC website now. Which package should I buy?

Canadian Securities Course
Online with Textbook* $960

This one includes the enrollment correct?

How about this one?

The CSC Check
1. For students enrolled in the CSC on or after July 6, 2007 $120

"Take advantage of a set of specialized online tools and practice questions that enable you to:

* Focus you study efforts and create an individual study plan by evaluating areas of strength and areas for further study
* Test your knowledge of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) Volume 1 and Volume 2 course material before you write the actual exams
* Experience how time constraints may impact your exam performance
* Determine your readiness and increase your confidence

Test your knowledge as often as you wish throughout your enrollment period. The correct answers, rationales and references to the text are also provided so you can target the material you need to spend the most time on. View pricing."

Is it worth it? Really helpful?

I have a B.Sc. degree major in Comp Sci. The only business related courses I've studied are grade 11 accounting and then intro to Econ and Business Management or something in university. How long before I'm ready to take the exam? Assuming I can study everyday full time.

Thanks!

not worth it. Just get the bare basic course with online text book... You could just print it out or read it off the computer PDF's.

You could get a CSC guide from the library that'll aid in your studies.

i have the similar education background as you. i used the Canadian Securities Course Online with Textbook, if you feel comfortable with reading the pdf file on your computer, then just get the one with pdf, $70 cheaper or so :)

if you study every day? then i think a week or two is enough for the exam? i spent 2~3 weeks on each exam while having a full time job.

Can you get the textbook and read without enrolling in the course?

you can get the textbook from someone who studied the course, but not from CSI.

I see a lot of colleges offering classroom for CSC course. Not sure if it is worth to enrol in one classroom. How about CSC seminar (https://www.csi.ca/student/en_ca/seminars/financial/csc_vol1.ft) offered by CSI?

Any idea?

If you're thinking about completing the exam to get into the industry, take a look at the big companies out there. A lot of them will pay your exam costs. Some will even offer classroom type help internally.
