Hi everyone!:cheesygri
I am a 16 year old student.
I am starting to look for a part-time job. I have worked before as a paperboy for 3 years (from 11-14 years) and I also volunteered (around 50 hours) in Adult ESL School as a secretary. I am looking for pretty much any job. Personal preference is a job involving customer service, like a sales associate.

The only thing is that a job has to have flexible hours, since i am a fulltime student.

Where do you guys think is a good place to start, and where did u guys start? Could you please share your experiences?

Then again, some emptier stores where you are the only employee may be good.

I have friends that just read textbooks at work on the counter

No, I bet there's a statistic saying you're more likely to quit if you work at a kiosk or by yourself because it's SOOOOOO boring. At least at American Eagle or somewhere you might have or you'll make a few friends so it's more fun to work there and you're not lookin at the clock waiting for your shift to end.

They usually don't hand 16 year olds those sorta jobs though (working by themselves), especially if they're a guy. Even with sales associates, it's hard to get hired until you're over 18, that's why most work in fast food or restaurants.

Try Wal*Mart, they hire young adults all the time.

Pfffft Wal-Mart, half the people get in their with family or work connections. I've honestly applied at every single close to well known place...try going through the mall directory and just looking up companies. You'd be surprised to know how many more companies there are, you can't recall them all from the top of your head.
