There have probably been a few discussions about this, but I thought I'd take a poll. :) Personally, I can't stay motivated when I'm running indoors and usually give up after 15 minutes, even though I'm physically able to continue.

Oops, sorry about the late poll. I didn't realize the post and poll were submitted individually! :|

no hamster wheel for me....
it's all about outdoor running.... the scenery is better, the air is fresh, the terrain is challenging, the wind adds resistance...
just try to run on asphalt as much as possible and avoid the concrete sidewalks.

Isn't there an option for trail? Much more forgiving on your feet than the road. OK, I voted for pavement since I'll take that over treadmill any day. I don't think you'll get too many people voting for treadmill... and if you do, we know they're not real runners. ;)
I did train for a marathon one year completely on the treadmill, including the long runs. That was a crazy winter.

I like running outside! The TM is good for the winter and rainy days :) I find the TM gets boring and I usually lose form running too long on the TM too.

Well a treadmill is better than nothing I guess when there's snow outside or it's a downpour but for sure, running outside is far more preferable.
