View Full Version : Help! Can I fight my previous tickets this way?

I had a speeding ticket from GTA before, back then I was an Ontario resident. Now I've moved to Quebec and my driver's license, plates and insurance all got changed. The numbers are completely different from before.

Now is the question: I still have to go back to GTA this September for fighting my ticket, can I tell the prosecutor/judge that the information on the ticket was mistaken and ask for waiving the charge? (Assume the cop shows up)

I understand this isn't something good but I promise only gonna use it this time. Any suggestions guys? Advice appreciated in advance.

You can't be serious. Did you change your name? Face? They would have your old license on file.

Well, the reason I come to Quebec is for a new job, not for fighting my Ontario ticket!

I didn't change my name and I haven't done any facial surgery, not yet. Never planing to do so.

I was kidding, the other two people not so friendly. Get mad at them.

Go ahead and use this argument. We'll forgive you if you promise never to do it again. Please keep us updated on the results (add sarcastic grimace here).

BTW, you already know what the right thing to do is. Why be morally inept by ignoring your good conscience?! Pay the ticket and move on.

No, it's not going to work. You're just going to infuriate the prosecutor and the judge, and that's never a good idea.

shhhh...

Yes, it will work, I tried it! I got out of 12 tickets this way. Try it and let us know how it went!

(see, now we'll be entertained by his story!)

ROFL you think the judge is stupid don't you? Amazes me still to this day how ppl will try all kinds of excuses to get out of the ticket that they usually deserved in the first place.

Why not sell your car and claim you never owned it?

Well this thread has it's merits--it's more good laughs on Wednesday after the terrible day I had yesterday :D

Well, you see there's this little offense called perjury...actually it's not that little, it's an indictable offense for which you can go to jail. So, traffic ticket....or....criminal charge....you choose.;)
